Story: Saving the Pack's Omega
“Oh.” I blush, biting at the inside of my cheek.
He still needs an answer.
“I—I want to.” I want his knot. “I—I’m just scared.”
“What’re you scared of, little one?” Kane asks as he starts climbing the stairs with me in his arms.
I stare at his beard. I wonder what it would feel like against my skin. Between my legs like Madden just was a few minutes ago. I bet it would feel good.
I shake myself.
I keep forgetting to answer his questions. I guess it must be my heat spike messing with my brain.
“I’m scared it’s going to hurt,” I whisper, not meeting his eyes.
“Ahhh,” he hums as he starts climbing the stairs. “I promise I’ll do my best to make things enjoyable for you, little omega. My focus will be on nothing else. Do you trust me?”
His words make warm butterflies start somersaulting in my stomach.
“Y—yes.”
“Good.”
He crouches down a bit to reach the handle on a door I’ve never seen before. It looks newly painted, the dark blue paint on the wood unblemished and shiny looking.
“This is your nest. It’s not completely finished yet, we thought we’d have more time, but it should be suitable for tonight.”
I let out a gasp when I look around. It’s beautiful. We’re on the top floor of the pack house and the beautiful A-frame roof makes the ceilings feel cozy. There’s still a decent bit of room for Kane to stand in the center, even though he’s quite tall.
What steals my breath away, though, is the piles and piles of the softest-looking fabrics and pillows in the world strewn about the room.
Kane sets me down on my wobbly legs, sliding my body along his. The rough feel of his suit sends shivers down my spine.
The floor under my feet is a plush cushion, almost like the entire floor is a mattress all on its own.
“Here are the lights,” he says, taking a step towards a fancypanel against the wall. “There’s a remote that lets you control all the things you need to from anywhere in the room.”
He pulls the sleek metal remote from its holder on the wall and points it at the windows. The previously dark glass turns transparent, looking out over the backyard and the dusting of snow outside.
“Whoa,” I whisper, in shock. I’ve never seen glass like that.
“This was Chase’s idea,” he says. “He thought you’d appreciate being able to choose whether you wanted the windows to be clear or not, that way it didn’t remind you of the cellar.”
My throat starts to close up and I choke down a sob. Damn these omega hormones.
“Really?” Tears start to fill my eyes.
“Oh, Luna,” he whispers. My name sounds like a reverent sort of chant on his lips. He reaches out and embraces me tightly in his arms. “This is nothing.”
“Thank you,” I whisper.
It’s not nothing.
It’severything.
He lets go of me, letting me stand on my own two feet again. “Of course. We’d do anything for you.”
My gaze is drawn again to all of the soft fabrics around the room. I must look at them longingly because Kane nudges me towards them.
