When I close my laptop after the most recent email, I sigh. I suspected my father would keep him up to date.
The tables have turned. Now he’s the one who writes, and I’m the one who doesn’t answer. Now I understand what he was feeling back then. I try to forget him like he tried to forget me, and I know he won’t let me do it, just like I didn’t let him.
