Her head tilts all the way back as I stop and tower over her. The angle perfect for me to pull down my sweats and thrust my shaft in her pretty little mouth until I hit the back of her throat.
She’ll struggle and cry to swallow it all but I’ll corrupt her so filthily that she’ll beg for more. Beg for every drop of my cum.
Clenching my fists, I roughly command, “Up.”
Dropping her gaze shyly, she rises. A current runs up my back when our hands touch as we walk out of the living room and into the hallway.
“Kian—”
“I can’t let you take care of me.”
“Why?” she whispers in a small voice as we stop outside her room.
Before she has a chance to react, I cage her against the door with my hands on either side of her head. Bending down, I bring my mouth an inch from hers, feeling her rough exhale skate across my lips. Her gaze becomes hooded, and her palms splay against my pecs, as though she’s powerless and needs my strength to hold her up.
“Kian.” My name leaves in a rush from her lips as I hover over them, saying nothing.
I tilt my head, pressing my mouth against her ear as I darkly growl, “You wear Nathan’s ring. You’re marrying him, yet if I slammed my lips against yours and kissed you, I know you wouldnotstop me. It’s the reason why I can’t let you take care of me, because I’ll become hooked… irrationally possessive, and then nothing will hold me back from acting on my urge to not only kiss you but steal you. Not even the fact you’re betrothed to another man will stop me.”
Her desperate gasp is all I hear as I storm away.
Chapter Thirty-Five
Iris
My thumb hovers over my phone as I dread making the call.
I’ve been waiting all week to be alone to chat with Harshita. Now that I have the chance because Kian had to go to the office for an urgent meeting, I’m a nervous ball of energy. My anxiety is at an all-time high.
If I’m not close with the other person, I prefer texting over calling. It’s frustrating that a simple task like this has me bent out of shape. I’ve picked up and discarded my phone at least five times in the last two minutes, trying to gather the courage to get it over with.
You’re giving her an update. That’s all.
Just press the button.
“Okay… It’s just a conversation,” I whisper and dial her number before I can overthink it.
Each ring feels like a drum beating inside my chest.
“Hello, Iris,” Harshita says, picking up on the fourth ring. “You’ve been MIA. Thinking of switching your profession?”
“I was attacked at Kian’s office a few days ago,” I reply unceremoniously, ignoring her jibe. Pin-drop silence greets me on the other end. “It was to hush me from looking into the girls.”
“How do you know?”
I try not to let it bother me that my mentor is all business after I told her I’m in danger, possibly in the crosshairs of a terrible group of individuals who are trafficking innocent women. Shouldn’t she be a little bit concerned about my well-being? Or do the courtesy of pretending at least?
“I received a text from an unknown number, threatening to hurt me worse if I keep poking. Whoever this person is, they’re deadly.”
“Do you have a clue who it could be? Did anyone raise your suspicion? Acted strangely? How many employees did you interact with?”
“A guy named Mahesh came up when I was asking around about the girls. He harassed one of them, after which she went missing. None of the employees seems to be aware of the truth. They think the girls were fired once the program got cut.”
“This Mahesh? He works in the same department as the missing girls?”
“Yes.” I hear her scribbling notes. “He’s in charge of the associates.”
“Have you met him?”
