Story: A Matter of Trust: A Carlsbad Village Lesbian Romance
“Well, excuse me, Miss Marchand! I did not realize you were such a coffee snob.” She took hold of the hem of the panda bear pj shirt and pulled Chloë up against her. “I’m hoping this doesn’t mean you’ve lost interest in enjoying other things I have to offer?”
Chloë cocked an eyebrow and a moment later, Morgan felt the sash of her robe being pulled undone.
“Nope,” Chloë said.

“Should I invite Patty to join us? You know, because her situation is very similar—”
“No,” Morgan interrupted Naomi on the phone. “Don’t invite anyone else. I may have had sex with a woman but I’m not exactly ready to stand on my rooftop waving a rainbow flag.” She paused. “Or the lesbian flag. Wait, did you even know there’s a lesbian flag?”
“There is?”
“Yeah, Chloë has it tattooed on her hip.”
“Hardcore.”
“Anyway, if you’re going to invite anyone, invite a guy who specializes in delivering Chinese food.”
“Ooh, this is so exciting!” Naomi exclaimed before hanging up.
It was a little past noon. Chloë had had to leave Morgan’s place at eight a.m. because she needed to get back to her own house and prepare for her shift at La Vida Mocha. But before Chloë left, she and Morgan had sex again and Morgan had been so turned-on and ready for it that it surprised her. In fact, it had been her taking the lead on the sofa, fucking—because that’s what it was, Morgan knew—fucking Chloë until the younger woman was nothing but a soft, wet and compliant mess beneath her.
Eventually, after cleaning up and spending some more time in quiet contemplation at this strange turn her life had taken, Morgan had called her best friend.
About forty minutes after their phone call, Naomi rang the doorbell,
“Tell me everything!” Naomi demanded, rushing into the house carrying a paper bag of take-out food.
“Hello to you too,” Morgan retorted, closing the door and following Naomi into the dining room where her best friend was unloading the Chinese food. Morgan had managed to drag the table into it the other day, which was good, but the room still had plenty of unpacked boxes in it and she looked at them ruefully. God, she really needed to get off her butt and fix up the house!
“Fuck hello,” Naomi said. “My best friend just made it with a woman…a younger woman too! You get extra points for that. Plus, bonus points that your very first time was with said younger woman. Plus, special bonus points that she spent the night. So, come on…spill!”
Morgan crossed her arms.
“You make the world of lesbianism sound like a game show,” she commented.
“It kind of is,” Naomi said, sitting down. The restaurant had provided paper plates and plastic utensils and she started dishing out the food. “There’s a lot of beautiful women in tight outfits, a lot of squealing and jumping up and down and if you win, you get a lot of new kitchen appliances.”
While they ate, Morgan recounted her date with Chloë. She wasn’t stingy with the details, either. Naomi learned what Morgan thought when she opened the door and saw Chloë, what they both ate at the tapas restaurant, what they talked about and how they ended up in her bedroom.
“And then it happened,” she finished.
“Ugh!” Naomi groaned. “You let me know how good the braised short ribs are in that restaurant and now you’re going to go all ‘a-lady-never-tells’ on me? Fine. At least tell me if you enjoyed it.”
Morgan had to cross her legs under the table as again the scenes of last night and even this morning flashed through her mind.
“Very much so,” she said breathily.
Naomi squealed.
“Yay! Holy shit, Morgan!”
“Yeah, holy shit,” Morgan said, laughing and blushing.
“So, what does this mean? Are you saying you’re gay now?”
Morgan had anticipated this question but even so, had no clear answer for her friend. In fact, while considering it as she had done over the past couple of days, she discovered that it kind of annoyed her that it was a question she even had to answer.
