APD: The first group challenge is over. How do you feel about the vote?

KIM ANA: Good. I’m grateful the judges chose to vote me through.

APD: Your group was almost at the bottom of the rank before voting. How did that make you feel?

KIM ANA: It’s just the first challenge. I think we’re all learning where we’re lacking. With practice we can get better.

APD: How did you feel about the three girls in your group?

KIM ANA: They worked hard. I’m glad we all made it through.

APD: Two of the other girls got the worst feedback but were saved by Shin Hyeri. How did that make you feel?

KIM ANA: It was her benefit for coming in first in the prechallenge. She was allowed to save two teammates.

APD: But how did it make you feel that she chose those two over you?

[pause]

APD: Did you feel upset that she’d chosen them when they were the reason your team ranked so low? Min Sohee even forgot her lyrics. Did she deserve to be saved after that?

KIM ANA: Hyeri and Sohee are close.

APD: So, you think Hyeri showed her preferential treatment because they’re in the same company?

KIM ANA: Maybe. Yeah, I guess she’d want to save Sohee because they’re from the same company.

APD: Do you think the other two deserved to be saved over you when the judges ranked you so high?

[pause]

APD: Ana-ssi?

KIM ANA: What do you want me to say?

APD: I want you to tell us if Hyeri upset you.

KIM ANA: But she didn’t.

APD: Are you sure?

KIM ANA: [shrug]

APD: Do you think Shin Hyeri chose them over you because she is intimidated by you? You were the only other girl who had a triple-digit score in the preliminary rankings.

KIM ANA: Yeah, I guess this is a competition.

APD: So, you think Shin Hyeri is trying to get rid of her competition?

KIM ANA: [shrugs] I dunno. It is a competition.

APD: Would you have voted for her if you were given the same benefit?

KIM ANA: Sure, she did a really good job.

[pause, sniffle]

APD: Are you okay? Do you need to stop?

KIM ANA: [sniffle] No, I’m okay. It’s just…a lot.…
