“Are you going to forgive him?”

Pillar signs.

“What?”

I sign back exasperated.

He grins like he’s old enough to know something he shouldn’t. “He’s been watching you like a hawk. I think you secretly love it.”

I scoff. Of course, he can’t hear it, but I’ve been teaching him to lip read and observe various expressions, so he picks up on it. And if he didn’t, the eye roll surely gave it away.

“He’s nice.” He says.

This surprises me. What would he know about Creek? What would he know about Creek and nice in the same sentence.

“How would you know?”

“He talked to me.”

Pillar rolls his eyes. “Well, he wrote down what he had to say on paper. Says that we need to get to know each other if you two are to marry one day.”

He shrugs.

He shrugs as if his words weren’t complete nonsense and never going to happen.

“He also says he has all the money in the world, enough to make me hear.”

My brows furrow as I take that in. Pillar looks excited by the prospect.

“Make you hear?”

I sign slowly, question in my eyes.

“Yeah, he says it’s called the cochlear implant-,”

he has to spell it out because he doesn’t know the sign for it, but I’m already cutting him off.

“I know what it is. I just didn’t know that was something you wanted.”

Cami had never so much as entertained the idea. We’d read about it, sure, but since it wasn’t anything of use, I’m not up to speed on the logistics.

“To be normal?”

Pillar signs with a deadpan expression.

The statement takes me aback. Hearing anything negative regarding this has always been a trigger of mine where Cami was concerned. I have to remind myself that they are two different people that house different opinions and feelings.

“First of all, you are perfect the way you are.”

He smiles at that, and I continue. “But if this is something you want looked into, then I will.”

He smiles once more and nods.

“Now, go get ready for bed.”

I fuck up his hair with my hand the way he hates and help him choose some pajamas. He settles on the ones with characters from a video game he’s stuck on.

Once I give him a hug and kiss good night, I shut off the lights and leave the room in search of Creek.

Pillar was right, Creek has definitely been watching me. Another week has gone by since he cornered me in the hallway and not much has changed since he revealed he was ‘giving me space’.

Until today that is. I had to get back to work today, which means Lane stopped by and we worked on a few things for Mr. Carter. I’ve been Lanes apprentice for some time now. Since I’m no longer able to partake in the action, Rex had found another way for me to stay busy by introducing me to Lane.

I’ve learned how to hack into security systems, access cameras and information from our local PD along with so much more. The upside is it pays extremely well. Best part? I have more time to spend with Pillar this way.

The problem is, as far as Creek knows, Lane was here to fuck me. Or at least that’s how he was acting. Coming out of the shadows all of a sudden to practically piss on my leg as he glared daggers at my boss. Lane, the sweetheart that he is, felt uncomfortable and had to leave early. I was so fucking pissed.

He’s not in his room when I open his door, so I set off to look for him. Eventually I find him in the kitchen, drinking a glass of water.

“You.”

I point a finger at him. “What business do you have discussing medical decisions with my kid without consulting me?”

He chuckles over his glass, looking hot as hell. “You can’t just steal a kid and claim him as yours. And I was just offering him a chance to explore his options. I did some research and thought I’d gain his favor for when we get back together.”

“We are not getting back together!”

I whisper shout, practically stomping my feet like a child, exasperated.

Creeks gaze dips to my ankle and I know I fucked up coming out here in short again. “It looks beautiful on you. Knew it would.”

He says, voice smooth, cool, and so Creek.

“I was only trying it on.”

I scoff. “Here you can have it back.”

I bend at the waist to take it off, which I realize is a colossal mistake when he comes up right behind me and his hard cock slides against my ass.

I suck in a sharp breath and shoot upright. Another mistake on my part, when Creek slides an arm around my stomach, gluing my body to his.

“Creek.”

I grit out. Hoping my anger will distract him from my growing erection.

I’m thankfully facing the opposite direction so he can’t see the blush painting my face crimson.

“Fuck baby. I miss the way you say my name when I take you.”

He breathes on the back of my neck.

His words alone flow through my body like a drug I never want to quit.

Motherfucker.

“I don’t know how much longer I can hold off if you keep seeking me out.”

That certainly lights the fire under my ass that I needed. Twisting in his hold I face him, blood boiling.

“Seeking you out?”

I question. “I certainly have not been ‘sEeKiNg YoU oUt.’,” I mock.

“No?”

He asks, lips so close to mine, they could brush, sending a bolt of excitement straight through me.

Out of nowhere Creeks ripped away from me. He falls into the island, wincing when his back hits the corner of the counter top.

Just as I’m about to kill someone, the culprit makes themself known.

“What the fuck? Get the hell away from him.”

Blithe orders and my eyes widen.

I’ve told him nothing of Creek, out of fear for his life. Ressyn or no Ressyn, B wouldn’t hesitate to take him out over me.

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to panic about it. Like always, I put everyone before myself and I don’t delay in going straight to Creeks side.

“Are you alright?”

I worry the muscle on his back, while he smirks like he won something.

“Keep smiling like that and I’ll fuck you up myself.”

I promise.

“God, I love it when you fight me.”

He licks his lips, accomplishing nothing but B’s wrath.

Blithe grasps the front of Creeks shirt and yanks him forward.

“Blithe!”

I yell at the same time Ressyn says, “What is happening?”

“Hey, hey, hey.”

Res gets between them, placing his hands on Blithe’s chest. “Talk to me, what happened?”

“Creek has his hands all over him, I’ll fucking break them. Har doesn’t like that shit.”

Blithe says and I wince. Wishing the floor would open and swallow me up when I see Res secretly raise a brow.

“Okay, I’ll talk to him, and it won’t happen again. Let’s go back to the room, please.”

B tongues his cheek, thinking about it just as Creek scoffs and I have a feeling it’s about to get darker in here.

I know I’m right when Creek steps forward, vexed “You won’t do shit. How about you deal with your own problems and stay the fuck out of mine. I’m not the one playing house with someone when I’m engaged to another man.”

Blithe steps back like someone hit him, and my hand flies up to cover my mouth. Tears threaten my eyes as I watch different emotions play over B’s face. All of them tormented.

“Blithe, wait.”

Res tries, but B’s already leaving the room. “Oh god…” He cries.

I have to follow him and make sure he’s okay, but first I need to make Creek hurt the way he hurts everyone.

I turn to him almost resigned as I do so. His brows furrow at whatever he sees on my face, but I don’t care anymore. I’m too tired for this shit. I’ve been through enough, and quite frankly so has B. I draw the line at my family.

“Fuck you.”

I leave the room with those parting words. Trying to forget the way his lips parted, expression pained.
