Page 99 of Unhinged Obsession
He was a lot like me. He masked his emotions most of the time. No one could guess what he was thinking. I didn't find Yara’s remark funny at all. I won't stand for anyone making jokes at Kit’s expense. I scowled at her, showing my anger.
"Let's get off the subject of my life and Kitlyn. What I do with her is no one at this table’s concern. She is with me because I want her here, and if anyone disagrees with my tactics, that's tough shit. Don't piss me off!"
Yara cleared her throat and looked at the floor while Zach kept grinning at me like an idiot, knowing I wouldn't be as harsh with him as I would be with her. Jacob, as always, kept silent. I sat on the chair at the table opposite the Island and straightened my shoulders, scowling at Zach and Yara.
My glare wasn't pleasant.
It was a warning for them to stay in their own lane.
Zach laughed, pointing to the corner of the table.
"Nice handcuffs, Atlas. Are they for the girl?"
I looked at the cuffs, not bothering to remove them. I didn't put them there. They aren't even a pair that I owned. Kitten's wrists would fall right out of them. They had to be Joey's. He must have forgotten them.
I smiled to myself.
The kinky little bastard.
I wanted the meeting to end as quickly as possible. There were other things that also needed my attention. I looked at my brother, ignoring his remark.
"Let's get to the point, shall we? Zach, I need you to keep track of our target."
My brother looked like he was bored, but I just ignored him. There was no need to get into a pissing contest with him.
I turned my attention to Yara.
"You placed the GPS tracker under his car last night, so we know his location. Once Zach sends us the information, and we arrive at our destination, you will make yourself visible, acting naïve as usual, and the trafficker will pounce on you like a hungry bear. They always do."
Unlike my annoying brother, Yara listened to my instructions—at least she was paying attention. I turned to Jacob. “You are my backup in case something goes wrong. You’ll stay close to me until the target is in my sight. If I miss, you will take over.”
Jacob nodded. “Got it, boss.”
I looked back at Yara, who sat quietly.
I was precise and right to the point.
"Make sure he doesn't feel the need to use any drugs on you. Chat him up, making him believe youare an easy target, and offer to leave with him so he doesn't have to force you to get into his car. I will be locked and loaded once both of you are outside near the vehicle. You will bend over, saying you need to fix the strap on your shoe."
She nodded as I continued going over the plans.
"I will fire at him, taking him out. If I miss, Jacob will replace me. You will quietly walk to my car and get in. The cleanup crew will be right behind us, ready to remove his body and make the area look shiny and new, as though a murder never took place."
My tone took on a more serious note.
“Make sure you have your firearm strapped to your thigh, like always, just in case you need it. Are we all clear and concise about the plan?"
Zach was still stealing glances at Yara's chest while nodding his head. I wonder if he even heard a fucking word I said. Damn Yara and her bullshit. Either she didn't notice Zach was drooling over her, or she didn't care. Unlike my sibling, she gave me her undivided attention.
Jacob was watching Zach steal glances at Yara’s tits. He couldn’t hold back his smile.
I looked at my perverted brother.
"So, you got all that, Zach? Are we good?"
He looked at me innocently, with a slight grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"Of course I do. We have done this same scene multiple times over the years. No need to worry. I got this."
