Jacob laughed."Sounds like a fun time. I will see you later at your place. Be careful tonight."
I hung up the phone and smiled. It was time Johnny scumbag atoned for his sin against my pet. This isn't Kitlyn I'm dealing with. I don't have to hold anything back. He will wish he had never met her after I am through with him.
Chapter 39
Kitlyn
I let Tuna out of his carrier and put water and food down for him before I got down to business. The house was dusty and smelled moldy, so I opened the doors and windows to let some fresh air in.
The weather in September was always nice, with average temperatures in the 70s. I’ve been away for almost six weeks. Although that may not seem like a long time to others, it felt like a lifetime for me. I twirled around in a circle, smiling and squealing like an idiot. I'm home!!! I was free!!
I grabbed the gym bag and removed all its contents, including my gun. Of course, the laptop and phone were dead. I retrieved the charging cords for both and plugged them in. After loading the 38, I set it on the table. I had no issues with my safety before Atlas showed up, but I will keep the firearm close to me, just in case.
Becca is going to shit herself when I call her. Everyone thinks I am friggan six feet under. Jesus. Ican't believe Atlas had that kind of pull to have me pronounced dead from his government connections without a goddamn body.
It just goes to show you how powerful these men were. This was another reason I knew I couldn't beat him with the flogger or rape him with that butt plug.
Aside from being unable to go through with it anyway, he had too many influential connections, and I would have been as good as locked up forever or dead when he freed himself.
I knew I could not kill him, so the thought of murder never came to mind. I figured he would whip my ass and punish me for doing what I did.
Never in a million years did I think he would release me. I had to get him out of my mind. I have a life to return to. Memories of him weren't allowed to rent space in my head.
I will remove the tracker from my arm first thing in the morning. Although the last thing on my mind was sex or meeting any guys, I will keep the birth control implant he forced on me.
I am sure I will get lucky eventually. When the time is right, I will have to meet guys online since I agreed to stay out of the clubs. That is not a priority right now. The last thing on my mind is dating. Hell no, not after what I have just been through. I wanted to see Becca. I missed her face.
As soon as the battery was charged, I dialed Becca’s number. My heart was fluttering in my chest, and I felt giddy. This was a happy feeling, not the dreaded anxiety I felt when Atlas kept me guessing how he was going to punish me.
Beck finally picked up on the fourth ring. "Who is this and why the hell are you calling me from this number?"
I took a deep breath and exhaled loudly.
"Becca? It's me, Kitlyn."
There was silence for the first few seconds, followed by a loud shriek, then a sob.
"Oh My God!!! I thought you were dead, Kit!”
I started talking in between sobs.
"No, Beck."
I had to take a breath between sobs.
“I am alive and well. I-I have so much to tell you."
There were more tears and sniffling between the both of us. "Can you come over so we can talk?"
Becca was bawling on the other end, which made me cry even harder.“Of course I will come over. Give me twenty minutes. Oh,my GOD! I cannot fucking believe you are alive!”
Atlas
I returned home at 10 PM from the assignment. As far as hits go, this had to be one of the easiest jobs to date. The guy followed his schedule to a T.
Yara may bust my balls occasionally, but she was excellent at her job. The whole thing went smoothly. Yara lured him to his car, and when she bent down to adjust the strap on her shoe, I blew his head off.
We've practiced hits so many times that it's second nature. We needed to be quick and efficient, and we were.
