However, her curiosity piqued Xia Zhen’s masculine pride immensely, and he nodded emphatically. Xia Zhen then pointed to several spots on the wall and began to explain to Tian Hui, "Here, is The Big Dipper, this is The North Star. We often rely on these stars to navigate when marching."

Tian Hui looked at Xia Zhen with admiration. This was the most they had spoken since getting married.

After explaining the stars, they turned their attention to different artifacts inlaid in the opposite wall, all of them quite rare. There were lifelike statues of various animals, as well as starfish and seashells from the beach.

Tian Hui was drawn to a large sailboat made out of seashells. They lived inland and usually only saw small boats during lake outings, so a large sailboat with sails was a rare sight—let alone one made of seashells.

Seeing his wife’s eyes light up with delight, Xia Zhen softened inside. For the first time, the tall, sturdy man entertained the idea of fulfilling all his wife’s wishes.

"Do you like it?" he asked.

Tian Hui nodded, "I like it."

"We’ll have Xia Zheng give it to us later."

"Okay, not okay," Tian Hui nodded and then shook her head, looking at her husband with some concern, "But it’s Yuanyuan’s first day of business. It wouldn’t be right to take her stuff just like that. After all, we are her elder brother and sister-in-law!"

How considerate!

Xia Zhen inwardly praised Tian Hui and then wrapped his arms firmly around her waist. He was already a head taller than Tian Hui, which made her look all the more dainty and delicate against him.

"Then we’ll buy it. No matter the cost, any gift for my wife is worth it."

Tian Hui’s eyes started to sparkle again, and even her cheeks turned a rosy red, more sweet and blissful than the feeling on their wedding night!

While the two of them were being sweet in their room, next door, Lin Yuan and Xia Zheng had just cheerfully plugged up a small hole in the wall.

They weren’t indulging in voyeurism. Their main concern was controlling the lighting and the placement of the glaze artifacts in the other room, which required constant vigilance.

They were surprised to see, through the hole, that Xia Zhen, who was only known for his martial prowess, had such a domineering yet tender side too! It seemed Tian Hui was indeed fortunate.

Xia Zheng couldn’t hide the smile at the corner of his lips, "Big brother wants to buy that sailboat. Yuanyuan, what do you think we should charge him?"

Lin Yuan arched an eyebrow and gave him a side glance. The guy was full of schemes, clearly having already decided to make a big score off his big brother, and still, he had the audacity to earnestly ask for her opinion—what a sly one!

However, Lin Yuan was not playing along. Smiling, she casually took her seat to one side, "Oh my, but that’s your big brother. What silver? Just give it to them as a wedding gift from me, their sister-in-law."

What? Give it away?

Xia Zheng’s heart skipped a beat and he quickly leaned in, "Yuanyuan, are you too happy today? Giving it away? Did you misspeak or did I mishear?"

Lin Yuan laughed inwardly, but shook her head nonchalantly, "You didn’t mishear, and I didn’t misspeak. Let’s just give it to them!"

Standing up, she gestured to leave, "I think they must be about done being lovey-dovey. Let’s go take that sailboat out for them.

Ah, right, they’ve just had their sweet moment, now they need a candlelit dinner.

Perfect, I’ve already reserved a place for them at the specialty restaurant ahead of time. "

Watching Lin Yuan’s serious demeanor, Xia Zheng felt his heart bleed. That was something he went through a lot of effort and expense to procure! It’s one thing to give it to his elder brother and sister-in-law, but watching Lin Yuan’s breezy attitude, he just couldn’t let it go without a warning.

"Yuanyuan, if you want to give a gift this time, so be it, since they are family. But please, do not give anything away like this again, it’s really expensive!"

Lin Yuan finally burst into laughter, unable to hold it back anymore.

Her laughter stunned Xia Zheng, who took a moment to come to his senses and realized he had been teased!

He had suspected as much. When was Lin Yuan, ever so shrewd about money, willing to give something away so generously?

Dong Tian attracted no fewer than a hundred guests on its first day, and even with a 20 percent discount, the day’s takings equaled what other restaurants typically made in three days, not to mention how it compared to Yi Ran Residence.

In the first three days since its opening, Dong Tian’s earnings matched what Yi Ran Residence made in an entire year, which was unthinkable before.

The staff who had remained from Yi Ran Residence were astounded by the figures, but for every happy person, there was one envious. So naturally, there were plenty of people who begrudged Dong Tian’s success.
