Story: Titan Of My Heart
Titan
I held Anthony’s phone like my life depended on it as I shouted out directions from the tracker he had on Bailey’s phone. Angelo—and I’m sure he was with Eva—had a thirty-minute head start on us and Anthony broke every speed law to eat up the time difference.
When we pulled onto the secluded street Bailey’s tracker led us to, Anthony slowed down a little as he drove past the mini mansion. Kiara looked attentive as I watched her scan the surroundings.
“Good, there are no gates or security staff. He may have cameras or sensors, but I think we can be in the house before anyone notices us. Based on what Titan told us Angelo said, I’m willing to bet he has Bailey in his bedroom because in his sick mind he thinks she belongs to him, so he’s going to make her comfortable,” she said.
“That makes sense. Most bedrooms are toward the back of a house, and I saw a gate in the back when I just drove by, so he has a pool. If she’s in a room, particularly his room, then the primary suite must be near the pool because most people want pool access straight from their bedroom.”
Anthony parked and we quickly talked strategy, which was just shoot anything moving.
Then we got out of Anthony’s tank. Although time was of the essence we still had to be smart.
He opened the back and lifted a compartment that held a mini arsenal.
We put on Kevlar vests and Anthony pulled two flash bangs and a small pouch that he put in his cargo pocket, and Kiara strapped a sheathed knife to her thigh.
Then both of them loaded up two Glock .45s and stuffed an extra magazine into the pocket of their vests.
Anthony handed me a Beretta, and I checked the clip and put the extra magazine in my vest too.
When we were ready, Anthony gave us a nod and we ran up the driveway, staying close to the wall that surrounded the property.
When we got to the pool, I saw frosted glass doors that led to a covered patio across from the pool. Anthony turned his head and looked at us as we ducked behind a fruit tree and some bushes.
“I think that’s the primary suite,” he whispered, me and Kiara nodded our agreement as we stayed low and jogged to the side of the French doors that had a tree we could hide behind.
Anthony reached into his pocket and took out the small pouch I saw him with a few moments ago.
I watched him shake a small black square into his palm and then he put it on one of the glass doors.
I was confused as to what this tiny box was for until I saw the glass start to quietly splinter into dozens of web-like patterns, then Anthony pulled the pin on his flash bang and threw it at the window.
“Cover your ears and close your eyes!” He shouted and I quickly did what he said just as I heard a loud bang and a flash of light. Then I heard Bailey’s voice.
“I’m in here!” She screamed and coughed. Suddenly, all that strategy shit we discussed was out the window as I ran from behind Kiara and past Anthony. I jumped through the broken window, ignoring a piece cutting my forearm.
When I came into the room, the scene in front of me had me seeing red.
My baby was strapped to a bed with nothing on but the lingerie she wore earlier.
Angelo was on top of her chest with a gun pointed at her and his dick on her chin.
Rage like I never felt before came over me as I ran toward the bed and tackled Angelo with the full force of my 6’6 280-pound body.
The momentum from our combined weight caused us to fly across the room and we slid across the wooden floor; we didn’t stop until Angelo’s head slammed hard against the wall, and he groaned.
I heard the gun he had skitter across the floor and I grabbed his ass by the collar of his shirt and slammed his head into the wall again so hard I heard his teeth click.
I saw he had a bandage on his nose, along with two black eyes, and I smiled because I knew my baby caused that.
I wanted to cause his ass more pain, so I hit ass in his already broken nose repeatedly until my hands and his white shirt was covered in blood.
I was lost in my rage and something about beating the shit out of a man who deserved it was cathartic.
I was about to hit his ass again when I felt a strong hand hold my wrist.
“Bailey wants you to stop,” Anthony said, looking at me like he didn’t agree with his sister about this. When he said Bailey’s name it was like my rage was immediately lifted and replaced by concern. I shook off Anthony and then I heard his boot stomp on Angelo’s chest.
“Anthony!” Bailey shouted.
“You told Titan to stop…not me!” He grunted as he stomped on Angelo’s ribs.
“Anthony, please stop! He’s not worth it!” She screamed, and Anthony looked like he was fighting against himself not to kill Angelo’s ass.
“FUCK!” He yelled out and kicked Angelo’s unconscious body one more time before he walked away and went outside.
I rushed toward the bed just as Kiara ran into the bedroom with a set of keys.
While I was beating the shit out of Angelo, Kiara or Anthony had cut the rope that restrained her ankles, but she was still handcuffed and half naked.
I took my shirt off and draped it across her body.
I was about to move to find her clothes, but she screamed at me.
“Please, Titan; please don’t leave me!” She sounded so scared, and I immediately sat my ass down next to her. Kiara tossed me the keys.
“I’ll see if I can find her clothes,” she said, and she was off.
My hands were shaking so bad it took me a few tries to finally unlock her cuffs; as soon as I did, I snatched her against me and rubbed my hands up and down her back as she shook and cried against my shoulder.
I rocked her back and forth as her tears soaked my chest and I kissed her repeatedly on top of her head.
I whispered how much I loved her over and over until her tears slowed down and she started to hiccup.
I don’t know how long I held Bailey against me while I rested my cheek on top of her head, but when I heard shouting and scuffling coming from the hallway, I finally looked up.
“Get your fuckin’ hands off me! Do you know who the fuck I am? If you did you wouldn’t be manhandling me like this bitch! I know who you are though! You’re a Morretti, a fuckin’ thug and a menace to society.”
My blood started boiling at the sound of Eva’s annoying ass voice. When Kiara came through the door she had Eva’s hair in one hand and Bailey’s big ass purse with her clothes inside of it in the other.
“Found Bailey’s clothes,” Kiara said happily as she walked toward the bed, causing Eva to trip and fall.
Kiara’s grip didn’t loosen on Eva’s hair, and she just drug Eva behind her like a rag doll, making her scream.
I t took everything in me not to smile with glee to see her miserable ass suffering.
She placed Bailey’s purse on the bed; Kiara had been ignoring Eva’s cries and curses until Eva said something that even I knew crossed the line.
“If you don’t let me go right now, I’m going to leak to the press the shit I found out about your evil ass cousin Giada.
I know those nightclubs are a front! I know you’re her so called enforcer and your sister is a fucking deviant sex freak!
” With each word, I saw Kiara’s face turn into pure hatred, and I saw her hand going toward the knife she had strapped to her thigh.
While Anthony, who must only have been right outside the door, looked like he wanted to murder Eva too.
“Let’s get you cleaned up, baby,” I whispered against Bailey’s ear; I felt shit was about to go south and Bailey didn’t need to be a witness to it. I quickly grabbed her purse and put it on my shoulder. Then I put my arm under her knees and supported her back, and carried her to the bathroom.
“Wait, please Kiara, she might be a bitch but she’s a mother, whoop her ass but don’t kill her.” Bailey pleaded and I could see from the look on Kiara’s face, that Bailey’s plea went in one ear and out the other.
“She should’ve thought of her son before she started talking shit,” Kiara said with a shrug and Anthony nodded in agreement as he walked toward Angelo, who was slowly regaining consciousness.
“Please, Titan! Tell this bitch to let me go!” Eva yelled at my back as I carried Bailey into the bathroom.
“It didn’t have to come to this Eva, you could have just left well enough alone,” I said just as I kicked the door closed on her screams. I sat Bailey on the double vanity and turned the water on just as Eva’s screams and shouts were getting louder, then I heard a muffled gunshot followed by complete silence. Bailey jumped, and I hugged her to me.
“It’s going to be ok, baby.” I kissed her forehead then fell to my knees and kissed her stomach.
When I stood back up, I gently cleansed her face and kissed her lips.
Then I cleansed her wrists and ankles, and gently kissed where they were starting to bruise and chafe.
I heard Anthony and Kiara’s low voices on the other side of the door, followed by what sounded like several footsteps.
It took me about twenty minutes to clean Bailey and get her dressed.
I lifted her off the vanity and held her hand.
“If you don’t want to see anything, just close your eyes and I’ll guide you,” I whispered and she nodded her head, but when I opened the door, only Anthony and Kiara were in the room.
I looked around in complete confusion. The sheets were changed, the room smelled like a bunch of cleaning products, and the floor was damp, but there was no trace of Eva or Angelo anywhere.
“Where did they go?” Bailey asked in surprise as she looked around too.
“We need to go,” Anthony said, ignoring Bailey’s question.
Once we were back in Anthony’s tank, Bailey sat on my lap in the back seat, and I held her tightly, while she rested her head on my shoulder.
“Seriously Anthony, where did Angelo and Eva go?” Bailey asked.
“Why does it matter?” Was his response.
“I need to know,” Bailey said.
“No, you don’t!” Kiara snapped. “You want to know because you’re nosy and sometimes being curious and inquisitive are great traits to have.
However, there are times when that shit can get you killed.
You understand what I’m saying?” She turned her head and glared at Bailey to make sure she understood her point.
“Yeah, I hear you. I have another question: what was that shit Eva said a little while ago? And earlier Anthony was sniffing cocaine and said ‘The Morretti’s got the purest white girl I ever had.’” I could tell Bailey was genuinely curious but the tension I felt in the vehicle when she asked her questions was enough to strangle me.
Instead of answering, Kiara hit a button on the dash and the sound of a phone ringing filled the speakers. After the second ring the call connected, and I recognized Giada’s voice as she answered crunching on something.
“What up, y’all handle that?” She asked.
“Yup,” Kiara replied, then she started speaking Italian.
I understood because I spoke it fluently, which Giada told Kiara when she said me and Bailey were in the vehicle.
Kiara gave a very coded rundown of what Eva said to her and the silence that greeted her was definitely loud.
Then she told her about Bailey’s questions.
“Bailey?” Giada asked.
“Hey girl,” Bailey said, she sounded tired.
“I won’t explain myself because that’s something I never do.
But I will say that if what you heard tonight will be a problem for you, we can part ways now and there will be no hard feelings.
Being associated with me requires some blind loyalty and trust, and if that is going to be a problem, let me know soon,” she said and hung up.
“Well, damn.” Bailey muttered and I heard Anthony chuckle.
I rubbed my hand over Bailey’s stomach, and she placed her hand over mine as we rode in silence.
