Random people shot her looks for talking to Destiny like that, but she was beyond frustrated. Besides, deep down, she knew she could talk to Destiny any way she liked, and the demi-god would be okay with it. Expected it in a way. Which made Jade realize just how close she and her sisters were to Destiny.

She might look their age, but in a weird sort of way, Destiny was more their mother than their own flesh and blood mom since she’d conceived them in magic before they ever made it into the real world. She could tell by the way not just Destiny but Leviathan looked at her and Maya, they felt that way too. They felt responsible for her and her sisters in a way that went beyond saving humanity.

“We do,” Destiny confirmed, either because she caught Jade’s thoughts or simply surmised what she was thinking based on the way she looked at them. “That’s why we think you should heed Thor.” She purposely looked from Thorulf to Jade. “It’s time for you to find your way back to the truth.”

“I agree.” Loki appeared at the door just before thunder crashed in the distance. “Sooner rather than later too.”

Jade frowned. “Why, what’s going on?”

Moments later, just about every single male dragon came to attention, and she found out why.

Better yet, she nearly came face to face with her worst nightmare.
