CHAPTER 26
ARLENE
I t was my third day in Shawn’s home. While Ruby was having the time of her life and treated to everything she wanted, I was practically Shawn’s sex slave.
He had sex with me whenever and however he wanted, even without my consent. It irked me that I enjoyed it and had multiple orgasms every time.
I enjoyed the way he kissed me roughly, like he was trying to gain control of my lips. I loved how his cock slammed into my pussy, making me wetter with every thrust. He was good at this, and he knew it.
He was about to take me again, and make me his. His lips pressed against mine, and he didn’t need to pin my hands above my head this time because I willingly let him do whatever he wanted to me.
I was done fighting him off and struggling to get out of his grip. We were in one of his other rooms, where a full-length mirror hung on the wall opposite us so I could see our reflection as Shawn flipped me so I was laying on my belly, my bum to him.
He moved his hand between my legs. I let out a gasp of pleasure as he moved his hands back and forth, stroking my clit.
“I’ve wanted every part of you for five long years now, Ally,” he said into my ear, not stopping his stroking.
I bit my lip as his hand started to massage my clit. Before I could fully register what he’d said, he slammed into me and tore a cry from my throat.
He didn’t even wait for me to adjust to his size before he began to move in and out of me. He started off slowly, and then his thrusts became more fast-paced and rushed.
Loud moans spilled from my mouth and then I quickly shut my eyes. Shawn spanked me hard, making me yelp as he began to speak.
“Open your eyes while I’m fucking you.”
I did what I was told, my eyes instantly going to the mirror beside us. In it, I could see the both of us: me bent over on the bed and Shawn standing over me, his cock inside me, sliding in and out.
The sight alone was enough to bring me to orgasm. My breasts bounced with each of Shawn’s thrusts.
“Yes, watch me as I make you mine,” Shawn said, and that was enough to make a loud scream erupt from deep within me as I came around him, and he followed me over the edge.
Shawn walked to the bathroom to clean himself up and I gathered myself and my shaky legs into a corner, but before I knew it, low sobs began to spill out of me.
The aftermath of our sex was very different from the previous times we’d made love, and I had no idea what had happened to the Shawn I once knew, or if I’d ever get him back.
I heard the bathroom door open, followed by the sound of footsteps padding over to the bed. I closed my eyes tightly, avoiding eye contact with Shawn.
“Arlene.” His voice was soft and filled with tenderness.
I didn’t open my eyes, but I could feel him sitting down on the edge of the bed. A long moment of silence passed between us, and then my eyes fluttered open. He was staring at me lovingly, not saying a word.
He seemed different from the Shawn I’d been with for the past three days, but I didn’t know how to explain this change.
I peeked at him. “What’s the matter?”
“I was never with Lora,” he said suddenly.
“What?” I croaked.
He pulled me to him and gently wiped the tears from my eyes with his thumb. “I was never with Lora,” he repeated.
“B–but she’s your fated mate.”
He gave me a small smile. “She was, but not anymore.”
I looked at him in confusion and with a sigh, he began to explain.
“After you left, I wasn’t myself. I couldn’t do anything or even think properly because I missed you so much.”
His face filled with remorse, and his eyes filled with a pain that mirrored mine.
“As much as I tried to, I couldn’t bring myself to be with Lora. You’re the one I want to be with.” He shook his head. “Anyway, my point is that I lost control and I don’t know what came over me earlier.”
I nodded, trying to process what he’d just said. Now he seemed and felt like the Shawn I’d known five years ago, and that was comforting.
“I’m so sorry for hurting you,” he said again. “And I forgive you for everything that happened between us, even if your choices kept us apart for so long.”
I reached out and took his hand in mine, my fingers trembling. “I’ve missed you so much these past five years. All I wanted was for you to come in search of me to show me you cared.”
“I couldn’t face you until I’d broken the bond with Lora.”
I nodded, partially understanding what he meant. “I don’t know what to do now,” I admitted.
He pulled me closer, wrapping his arms around me. “I don’t either, but one thing I know for sure is that I’ll never hurt you again.”
“But I’m worried that this thing between us won’t end well. Everyone views the fated bond as a blessing. I never wanted you to go against your bond.”
Shawn squeezed my hand. “You’re not making me go against my bond.”
“But that’s what’s happening.”
He gave me a small, reassuring smile, which started to calm me down. “You don’t have to worry about that. I’ll figure it out. It’s my cross to bear.”
It was hard to stop worrying, but I didn’t want to continue circling this problem. So I nodded and asked, “Where’s Ruby? Can I see her?”
“Of course,” Shawn responded. “But for now, I’ve taken her to see my parents.”
That scared me, but I said nothing. I wondered what his parents would say about him having a child out of wedlock, especially with a downtown wolf who wasn’t his mate. It was a scary thought, but I was slowly learning to trust Shawn and let him handle things.
“Is there anything you want to do right now?” Shawn asked.
I smiled at him. “I just want to go home.”
