Story: The Wolf and The Witch
I walked into my house at the end of the day, exhausted, with an arm full of paperwork.
Only to be greeted by various objects floating past my head and into my kitchen.
Sighing, I followed them, less than thrilled I was already going to have to get into it with Nova. Only to pause in the doorway when I noted that she wasn't doing magic at all.
Well other than the flying objects.
She was cooking.
At least thats what it looked like she was doing. She had my mothers cook book open on the table and was somehow gracefully chopping carrots. "Noviana?"
"Nova." She replied, "The stars tell me today was a challenge."
"It was..." I said carefully as I walked into the kitchen, "are you cooking?"
"It is a meat pie."
Yeah, I could smell that, "with no people in it?"
"I rarely eat mortals."
I cringed a bit at rarely but opted to ignore it. "Is there a reason you are cooking?"
"I am hungry." She replied blandly, "and the stars told me you wish to talk. So we shall."
Okay then. Looks like I don't have a choice other than to get into it with her. "Do you want some wine?"
She snapped her fingers and one of my best wines was on the counter, "speak, alpha king."
I poured two glasses, taking a long drink of my own, "it is about my Betas child."
She paused briefly in her chopping, before resuming as if I wouldn't have noticed, "I have informed you that the consequences are not something I am willing to endure."
"I am not asking you to Nova, I will never ask that of you."
"Then what is this discussion?" She replied tossing the vegetables into a bowl followed by mud and a few other things I couldn't identify.
I arched a brow in question.
"For Grug." She replied, "your food is almost finished."
"Right... Thank you. Well, I was wondering if the sacrifice had to come from you for the spell."
She paused stirring in her mud concoction to look over at me, "you recommend a mortal? That does not hold power enough and they cannot enact the spell."
"No.." I began before stopping, noticing for the first with some amusement that she was actually wearing an apron over her gown. "Are you wearing an apron?"
"Spun from spider silk?"
I bit back a smile as she walked around the island counter and opened the stove, a meat pie floating from its depths.
"How... domestic of you Nova."
"I enjoy keeping my clothes clean. Now. You mentioned sacrifices?"
"Right." I cleared my throat, ripping my gaze from the dark apron clung to her form, "what about another witch."
"None of them would aid you." She replied blandly.
"Would they need to know?" I pressed.
She scooped some of the mud concoction into a large bowl for Grug, "you wish to trick one of them? That is a difficult task considering what you are."
"No...Nova I was hoping you could make that happen."
she lifted her hand, knife hilt finding its way to her palm. The heady scent of meat and vegetables perforating the air. "Go wash up and meet in the dining room."
It didn't smell quite like the one my mother used to make, "did you change the recipe?"
"Yes. I substituted ale for wine. Wash up, we shall continue our chat after."
Rolling my eyes a bit I went to wash my hands, returning to the dining room to see Nova at the table with Grug.
She was frowning at him and scolding him for using his hands, I chuckled, "he is a golem Nova, not a child."
"He is my Golem. He is better than the average golem therefore he should have some decorum."
I hummed a bit in response as she placed a large slice of the pie in front of me, "this looks fantastic Nova."
She nodded a bit taking her own meal and sitting next to me at the head of the table, with Grug on her other side. "You wished me to trick a witch into sacrificing her reproductive potential in order to save your betas child?"
"More or less yes."
"No."
I blinked at her, fork halfway to my mouth, "Nova. I know they are your kind but they have done you no kindness and nei-"
"Forcing them sounds much more interesting, I shall see what I can do."
"Thats it?" I asked shocked, "I had an entire argument prepared in my favor."
"I have just the witch in mind. Powerful enough for it to work."
Ah. So it is personal for her.
Interesting.
"The food is delicious Nova."
"I know." She murmured, "I am excellent in the kitchen."
The Golem laughed, "Grug like mud pie!"
"Eat grug."she admonished as she picked up her wine.
I nearly choked when I felt her foot trace up my leg.
"You are in charge of dessert."
This woman literally never stops trying to get in my pants.
I pulled her chair closer to mine, "Don't be coy Nova it doesn't suit you."
Her eyes lit up in amusement, "is that so?"
"It is." I growled lowly, hand running up her thigh.
"Grug." She murmured softly.
"Yes lady Nova?"
"Go away."
"Okay!"
He waddled off, his bowl in hands.
I pulled here even closer, liking the way she purred out in desire. "You should eat." She murmured.
"Im looking at a perfectly good meal."
Her lips curled up slightly, "yes. But I cooked the other one. Eat it, you need you energy for tonight seeing as your still dying and I would like a great deal of pleasure."
Scoffing a bit I pulled her into my lap, "fine. Lets eat."
