I crossed one leg over the other, frowning slightly at Sebastian, "why have I yet to see the temple of Luna?"

He didn't look up from the papers he was reading, "because you predicted the death of my betas child. We need a moment for that to settle before we allow you into the most sacred space known to our kind."

"I don't see why." I hummed, "It is what it is and I really aught to be getting home."

"Then go home." He deadpanned.

I stood slowly, making my way around the desk, ignoring his frown as I sat on the arm of his chair, hand running through his thick black hair, "Surly you can find a way to entertain your guest as she waits."

"Noviana." He warned.

"Sebastian." I breathed out softly, "why such restraint. When we both know how much we enjoy the mutual pleasure."

"I am a king." He rumbled back, "this entire city is my pack, I have a responsibility."

"You are a dying man and I am a beautiful woman." I kissed his jaw just below his ear, "why not enjoy the fine spiritual wine of pleasure?"

He set the papers on his desk, looking me over, "do you always need to get me naked?"

"Thats when I have the most use for you and you for me."

He stood from his seat, holding out a hand, "come Noviana."

I stared at it, "that is the goal but it appears you have other ideas."

"I am not playing with you in my place of work."

"To the bedroom then?"

"No. He replied cooly, as we stared from the room, "I need to speak with you without your trying to seduce me."

"That is unlikely."

"I figured, yet also decided you would be less likely to succeed if we were walking and not confined in a small space."

I nodded slightly, "I see. What is it you wish to speak about."

"You desire children?"

"I assure you it is not my time in my cycle where conception is possible."

He frowned a bit, "that wasn't my question Noviana."

"Nova." I corrected, "and one day I would enjoy having spawn of my own I believe. With the right specimen of male. Intercourse is not even required."

He looked at me for a moment as if I had grown a second head and third breast, "intercourse not required...for your pregnancy?"

"Yes." I confirmed, "as I previously noted my lust only seems to spark in your presence, i shall simply collect a sample of an attractive and powerful male from select species and insert-"

"Okay. I'm going to stop you there. Nova, what will your child be?"

"What do you mean?"

"Species."

"Oh, well that is entirely dependent on the gender and father species."

"How so?" He asked, voice careful.

"Well suppose I have a child with a fae, it will more than likely be fae or human."

He stopped. Utterly stopped, "what?"

"I stated if the father were-"

"Yes yes, I know. What about it being a witch."

I scoffed slightly, "the likelihood of that blessing is unfortunately low. It would need to be female and while I have a higher chance at a born witch than any other woman would, we are a rare beauty and only twice in history has a born witch giving birth to another."

"Then how are you made?"

I was quiet for a moment, "that is not information anyone not born with magi is allowed."

Sebastian seemed to let it go, "and if you had a child with me?"

I thought it over, "either wolf, human, or witch."

He frowned, "what changes?"

"Werewolves are highly magical beings, for the most part only ever breeding within their own species the magical origins from your goddess are less diluted than other species.

" I gazed up into his strange eyes, "you most of all, being a direct descendent of the original Alpha, your power is intense.

Logically my likelihood of having a daughter like myself doubles at the very least."

He seemed to process this, still walking. "If it was born a wolf, would it be a full wolf?"

"Full wolf?" I questioned.

"Not magical."

"Wolves by birth are magical but if you mean able to practice magi, perhaps if taught a little but it is highly unlikely."

"And a son would be?"

"Just as you are, an Alpha with eyes like an eclipse."

He sighed softly, "I have a duty to my people Nova."

"So you like to say." I replied dryly, "constantly. Are you reminding me or yourself when you do so?"

"Part of my duty is to give them a new alpha when I am gone."

"That is what the men are here for no?"

"True." He murmured, "but I find myself wondering if a simple replacement is the best I can do for my people."

I said nothing, curious.

"I would like to make a deal with you." He continued, "I would like you to have my child. And in the occasion it is a male, an alpha male, you hand it over to Mason to raise into the next king."

Interesting. "And if it is a wolf of any other kind?"

"I would like you to hand over any child of wolf blood you might bare."

"If not a wolf?" I questioned.

"Then you keep them." He shrugged, "I need an heir or at least a wolf with the genes able to eventually provide a blood king."

I thought over his proposition, "so assuming I birthed a female wolf, she or one of her decedents would in turn eventually provide your people with a blood alpha."

"Yes."

"It is a decent idea as a king." I hummed as I followed him through the halls.

"Then you will consent to this deal?" He asked, hope tinging his words.

"No."

He stopped, turning on me, "is there a reason? I understand that the prospect of giving up your child is-"

I cut him off before he could continue on with ridiculous questions, "I have no use for a wolf child of my blood, no inclination to have one in my household, nor knowledge of how to raise one. Nor do I have the inclination to have a child at the moment."

He seemed to process this, "well it is highly likely to be a wolf right? Is there no way for you to tell or I don't know choose?"

I cocked a brow, "magic does not work that way alpha king."

"Right." He drawled, scratching the back of his neck, "of course not. Well it would be a deal perhaps in return if you have a child that is not a wolf as part of it I will secure it a home before I pass? Just incase."

I nodded a bit, "another decent idea."

"So you accept?" More hope.

"No."

A frown marred his beautiful face, "okay...what are your terms?"

"I have none, pregnancy with such power would have many uses to me, my afterbirth alone would make phenomenal spells, you presented a very valuable bargain I would be inclined to accept."

"But..?"

"But I cannot give you a child. My time in my cycle for pregnancy has passed and will not return until after you are in the afterlife."

His face fell, disappointment filling his eyes. "Oh."

I continued past him down the hall, "I know this was a very large decision and sacrifice for you to be willing to have a child with a witch for your people.

I commend you for your actions as a leader, but the universe has already condemned you.

" I looked at him over my shoulder, "there is no third option for you Sebastian, you either live to see your first born or you die and end the legacy with yourself. "

"There is always another way Noviana."

"No." I murmured, "there is only two paths in this story Alpha king, you followed the fireflies once, why not look for a sign rather than an escape?"

He caught up to me, face suddenly without emotions, "what about you Noviana? What are your paths in this?"

I didn't bother looking his way again, "I am following the stars Sebastian, nothing more, nothing less."

"So what your content to attach yourself to me for life?"

"No." I replied, "but I am not bothered by it either, you and I could live our separate lives and seek one another out at night."

"Do you hear yourself Noviana?" He growled, "we are natural enemies, we cannot just live our lives separate and together."

"Natural enemies?" I questioned, slightly amused, "I do not see your wolves as enemies."

"You...don't?"

"No."

I see them as spell fodder.
