Page 129 of The Villainess Whom I Had Served for 13 Years Has Fallen
Celestial magic is different from divine magic.
Healing wounds and buffs.
The basic abilities of strengthening against undead and providing beneficial effects to allies were similar, but unlike divine magic, celestial magic had exceptional efficiency in interpersonal combat.
Sacred power, derived from the love of the gods for humans, was almost ineffective in interpersonal combat, but celestial magic was different.
Celestial Magic
The magic that made one feel chosen just by its name was a connection that Ruin coincidentally obtained in an old library in the latter half of the novel.
After being defeated by Hans.
After his mentor, Matapju, died.
When he was mentally overwhelmed, he obtained this magic like a miracle.
It was Ruin’s obsession.
The foundation of Ruin, who would later be known as the mage of white flames.
Mentally maturing.
Learning patience rather than anger.
Gaining strength at the point where flowers bloom after many failures.
That was one of the connections Ruin obtained.
The Ruin now was very different from the one in the novel. Perhaps because it was still in the early to middle part of the novel, he was much younger and inexperienced.
The Ruin in the latter part of the novel was different, you see.
The sub-main character named Ruin in the novel was an attractive guy. I didn’t like him because he didn’t suit my taste, but I remembered him as a somewhat cool guy.
The Ruin in the novel was a bit colder and a cool presence in front of Uriah.
It was chic yet decadent, filled with self-confidence due to being aware of his talent, but he was not someone who would torment others.
And his demeanor wasn’t as dirty as it is now. Of course, the image I remember is probably from the later part of the novel, not the early part.
In the early part of the novel, Lune’s presence was not as significant as I had thought.
More precisely, his presence increased after the upcoming kidnapping incident involving Uriah.
Since then, I’m not sure if he had a change of heart, but he had a completely different vibe from the current Lune.
He was a bit serious, and his demeanor was dirty, but like a meek lamb who obediently endures at Uriah’s request, Lune was portrayed.
Perhaps it was when that arrogant guy, Nara, appeared and started shaking things up.
The contrast between Miss and Lune wasn’t described in detail in the novel either.
There was mention of rivalry, but I remember that there was no mention of him getting angry or losing his temper when he saw Miss like he does now.
Maybe it was because the novel only showed a fragmented view, but the Lune I knew and the current Lune seem a bit different.
The deficiencies have grown.
He loses his temper.
He acts like a child.
Of course, it could be because I directly experienced stories that were not included in the novel, or from Uriah’s perspective, it could feel different from what I see.
The same goes for Mikhail.
In my eyes, they appeared as innocent children caught up in deficiencies, but in the novel, their appearances were depicted with determination and grace.
I suddenly thought it might be a difference in perspective.
“That’s why it’s a problem when they have too much audacity. I should have let them roll.”
I tried my best to not disrupt the story, but it didn’t go as planned, so I feel a bit regretful.
And as for what happened before the rankings... I can’t say anything because even I think I went too far with Lune.
I was so excited when I first came to the academy. It felt like the reins had been released, knowing that I could legally possess the protagonist I had only seen in novels.
– Thrilling...!
– Stop it...!
– Amazing...!
– Stop hitting, you crazy bastard!
– Is this possession...?!
– It hurts! You son of a bitch!
Even I think I went too far.

I laughed hollowly as I took out a dusty book from the basement shelf of the mansion.
It was a space that only the lady and I knew, and at the same time, the lantern’s light flickered in the basement, a dark space where no one was allowed to enter.
Holding the lantern in my hand, I shone it on the book I took out.
“Is this it...? Oh, right.”
It was covered in dust. A book with a peculiar cover made of demon leather, a book that seemed to have trivial content, was turned upside down with dust and hiding its presence.
“I didn’t know I would see this book.”
Ancient Grimoire
[Infinite Dance of Light]
It was a grimoire that made Ruin grow into an archmage in the novel and created a difference that couldn’t be compared to other mages.
When I was young, I didn’t know that the book I stole just in case would be the one I would use.
Basically, grimoires contained knowledge about magic and the unique abilities of grimoires.
Learning from someone else is also a good way, but the knowledge and understanding conveyed by a grimoire created by a mage who had left the world for a long time were too significant to ignore. Even a grimoire with ordinary magic like Firestorm boasted a high price.
Especially ancient grimoires possess a value that cannot be obtained with astronomical amounts of money.
As I stood there, facing the grimoire, I was lost in thought. Should I really use this grimoire?
I had initially taken it out with the intention of giving it to Ruin, but now I wonder if I can truly extract its efficiency.
Perhaps it would be better if I were to steal a rare item or weapon from Mikhail. As someone without talent in magic, using this grimoire may not be the best idea.
After all, this grimoire is a tricky one that disappears when the successor appears.
“Sigh... I’m in a dilemma.”
I inherently lack talent in magic.
I objectively knew that I wasn’t particularly skilled in performing calculations or bringing imagination to life.
That’s why I entered the swordsmanship department instead of the magic department, and that’s why I had conflicts with Mikhail.
I tried to learn many theories and spells, but... I couldn’t find the knack for it, so I gave up on learning magic.
It turned out to be beneficial for me.
Even if it wasn’t magic, if I could properly handle just a sword, I could defeat countless enemies. I believed it would be useful in a battle with the unpredictable Idogyo.
Swords are stronger in one-on-one combat than black magic.
As someone who focused solely on swordsmanship, I am currently struggling with the decision to learn magic.
It feels too wasteful to give it to someone else.
But giving it to Ruin feels disheartening.
Becoming stronger is good, but wouldn’t it be better to give it to someone who can use it more efficiently than me?
That’s the problem with the subplot of the grimoire. I thought that the issue could be easily resolved by cutting off the branches of Idogyo that have plagued me since childhood.
If Ruin cannot solve it here.
Then the conclusion can only be that it wasn’t a subplot of the story, but rather a lack of effort on his part.
Hans, of course.
The magical book that the cultists will take.
Because most of these guys who will grow into great evil were either killed or had their fate changed by me when they were young.
But if any problems arise, I can handle it. There was no need to think too hard about it.
I pondered until the lantern’s wick wore out, unable to come to any conclusion.
Thinking about someone who is smart and trustworthy...
It must have been a while.
A loud noise announcing the start of the day came from above my head.
– Air raid alarm!!!!
I smiled.
“I found you.”
You fool.
She hates studying, but she has a talent for magic that no one can surpass.
And even if she were to betray me, I would gladly accept it.
Olivia.
Thinking of the lady lying in bed, I climbed the stairs.
*
“Miss.”
The lady lying in bed rolled over and looked at me.
“Yes.”
“It’s a gift.”
“Hmm?”
The young lady’s eyebrows twitched as she looked at the dark brown square object. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she spread her hands wide and smiled.
“Chocolate!”
“No, it’s not.”
“Huh...”
With a firm denial, the young lady turned her disinterested eyes away from the old book. If it wasn’t chocolate, she snorted as if it was only natural to exclude brown from her life.
Even though this book alone is worth building a chocolate palace.
The young lady let out a deep sigh and confided her small wish to me.
“I thought it was a huge chocolate and liked it.”
“It’s something even better.”
“Ricardo, you’re exaggerating. There’s nothing better than chocolate in the world.”
“...”
The young lady firmly told me.
“I don’t need it, give me something else.”
I looked at the young lady with a meaningful smile.
“But it’s an incredible gift, you know?”
Losing interest at the mention of it being inedible, the young lady waved her hand as if to dismiss me and showed a relaxed expression.
“Books are boring.”
“But it could be a very interesting book.”
“Is it better than the book Ricardo gave me last time?”
The young lady spoke of her own collection that she looks at every night. How did she know that it was a series? She asked a clever question.
Feeling guilty, I sealed my lips tightly.
“It’s not like that. It’s a magic book.”
“A magic book?”
The young lady’s eyes rolled with interest, but soon she turned her body towards the window with a gloomy expression.
She seemed unwilling to talk.
“I can’t use magic.”
“Wouldn’t N.o.v.e.l.i.g.h.t it be interesting to see?”
“What’s so interesting about watching someone who can’t use it?”
The young lady raised the blanket to the top of her head and pouted, showing her dissatisfaction.
A magician who lost her magic.
I can’t possibly know how the young lady feels, even though she had exceptional talent and was even more remarkable than Lune. The fact that she couldn’t use magic must have brought her a great sense of emptiness and shock.
But personally, I had a strong desire for the young lady to read the magic book.
Just in case.
There might be a miracle that this magic book could find a clue to restore the young lady’s lost magic.
I don’t know much about the abilities of this magic book either.
In the novel, the description was only one line: “Obtained wisdom with a white light.”
I couldn’t know what kind of ability it had. As someone who hadn’t read it, it was an unknown to me.
That’s why the desperate hope was extended with the expectation in mind.
“I’m not looking.”
He closed the curtain due to the lady’s tantrum.
