In the common fae language, Rs are pronounced with the tongue glancing off the roof of the mouth, creating a sound closer to an L or D. This is indicated with the symbol “r/l.” A double n is spoken with a nasal quality as opposed to a singular n and is indicated with “ng.”

NAMES

Marcia (MAR-see-uh) , goes by Mar. The female main character and a Golden Child with shapeshifting powers. Ran from the White House under care of the U.S. government and snuck through The Rift at sixteen years old, has been living in the fae realm since.

Hohem (HO-hem), an Alf and twin brother to Vyrain. A seer told his mother that her child would be a vitally important hero, but no one knows which one of them is the chosen one.

Vyrain (vai-RAIN), an Alf and twin brother to Hohem. A seer told his mother that her child would be a vitally important hero, but no one knows which one of them is the chosen one.

Yrralailee (YEER-ah-LAY-lee) , goes by Yrra (YEE-rah) . An aquatic-based waterfolk fae seeking an unclaimed body of water to inhabit and harem of mates to establish himself.

Daethie (DAY-thee) , a member of the militant, pixie-like Aminkinya (AH-min-KIN-ee-yah) race and an irritable, self-absorbed kleptomaniac.

Jük (jook) , a grumpy Epitgig , a faerie race resembling a goblin.

Kereti (keh-R/LEH-tee) , one of the 12 fae provinces. Kereti, governed by the Kereti family, makes up the fae realm’s geographical equivalent of Canada.

Narille (NAH-ril) , the oldest daughter of the main Kereti family.

Luthri (LOO-three) , the male main character, a Peri with bird-like aspects. An eccentric lone wolf on a quest to copulate with a member of each faerie race.

Cantal (can-TALL) , a holy man who tends to a shrine for Hermenia in rural Kereti.

Hermenia (hur-MEN-ee-yah) , the Lady of War, patroness of soldiers, justice, and death. A warrior goddess worshiped in the north, the counterpart to Aeil.

Aeil (ale) , known as the Mother, patroness of families, love, and life. A deity worshiped in the South, counterpart to Hermenia.

Rugaveld (ROO-gah-veld) , Munarzed’s acting mayor.

Gerda (GUR-duh) , a giantess and ship owner who delivers goods to Munarzed.

Savreen (sah-VREEN) , Rugaveld’s daughter.

Note: The characters in this book speak languages besides English, but it has been translated to colloquial English for your enjoyment.

Fae words that don’t translate directly will be italicized.

As a human, Marcia occasionally sprinkles in the odd English or Portuguese word.
