Page 34 of The Forgotten
“Yeah, it’ll be a cold day in hell when that happens,” Gareth mutters, turning back toward me. “Fuck, I’m squishing you. Are you okay?”
Gareth pushes his upper body up with his forearms, looking sheepish as he gazes down at me.
“So, your dad?” I ask.
“Don’t go anywhere alone with him,” he snaps, refusing to move off me. “He has very odd proclivities. If he’s here, it’s because he knows about you.”
“And that’s a problem because?”
“I would love to tell you that I know, but I don’t. My brothers are keeping secrets from me,” Gareth says, wincing as he pulls out of me.
Shivering, I whine as every one of his piercings slide along my inner walls.
“I love my father, but hate that he’s here,” Gareth sighs. “I didn’t think that far ahead when I kidnapped you.”
“And you’re not going to let me go?” I ask, not sure what I want his response to be.
Gareth’s cock bobs at half mast in front of me, and I reach out to distract myself, gliding my fingertips over his piercings. His eyelashes flutter, long and gorgeous as he takes a shaky breath.
“I can’t,” he says, looking pained. “I’m afraid I’ll never see you again.”
“Or my daughter and her pack will just kill you all,” I shrug as if I don’t care either way.
“So pretty, yet all you talk about is killing people," he mutters, standing up. “As long as it’s not yourself, we won’t have a problem. I’ll happily fight with you, Olivia.”
Gareth grabs my hand and helps me up, giving me a grin.
“It’ll make make-up sex all that more fun,” he says, dragging me to the shower. “Let’s get this over with, and then I’ll make you some real food.”
As he waits for the water to heat, he curls his fingers around the column of my throat. I think that’s his favorite way to get my attention.
“Yes?” I ask, amused.
“No more talk about killing yourself. I’ll happily be your blade. My brothers haven’t left the best impression, but they aregood men,” Gareth says. “Even so, I will put myself between you and them to keep you safe.”
“And if your dad is here under some fucked up idea?” I ask.
I have no idea what to think, or why his presence is cause for concern.
“Then we’ll deal with it then,” he says.
Nodding, I get into the shower with him, ready to face whatever else life plans to throw at me today.
Chapter
Eight
CAI
“Can I get you anything?”I ask my father, stalling as I wait for my brothers and Olivia.
“No, don’t fuss over me,” he says, shaking his head. My father sits tall and proud, despite his age, no sign of illness on his face. Out of all of his kids, Gareth is the only one who has any gray in his hair, and he’s adopted.
“Okay,” I murmur, sitting down and adjusting my pants so I can comfortably sit. I’m dressed the same way I would for work, because that’s the only way I can present myself to my father.
He’s wearing an expensive suit, and his steely gray eyes move over the living room.
“Tell me about the girl.”
