“It completely drained me, but yes, I did manage to get rid of it.” Reiya really didn’t like talking about it. She wasn’t into bragging about herself unless she was teasing someone. It was just something she did, and she was glad to help.
“Well then, I guess I will have to keep a close eye on you. Can’t let something happen to someone so precious.”
“We think so, too. In fact, we’ve been waiting to speak to you about something, but we can do that with Xander and Mason later. There’s a lot going on lately, and so much to fill you in on.” Weston’s silly tone was gone as his demeanor turned serious.
Dex nodded his head. He caught someone walking up to them out of the corner of his eye.
“Sorry I was late, Reiya.” Reese lowered his head in respect to the royals near the princess.
“I was beginning to wonder what happened to you, though, from the looks of you, it looks like you may have been … indisposed?” Reiya giggled, noticing his messy hair, and his clothing was a bit out of place.
Reese cleared his throat and looked away. “Yeah, I found my mate, and we were, umm, getting acquainted.”
“I can see that. I really don’t need you to babysit me. I’ll go and hang out with Grandpa Sage so you can spend time with your mate.”
Reese shook his head fervently. “No way! Xander will absolutely kill me if I leave you unguarded. Besides, he already knows I found my mate. And, uh … he said that I can just be sexually frustrated for now. If he’s too busy to get some, then I can be too busy to get it, too.”
Reiya lifted her hand and rubbed her fingers over her eyes, to her temples. “Ugh, he can be so inappropriate at times. He really needs to quit acting like a child.”
“Hahaha, sorry, but he is just that. You’re mated to a big child.” Dex chuckled, shaking his head. “He’s strong, though. What he doesn’t have in brains he makes up for with brawn. So, where is the man-boy at?” His eyes flashed up to Weston.
“I can take you to him. I was actually sent here by him to keep an eye on Reiya until Reese got here.” Weston winked at Reiya, then tilted his head to the side, motioning for Dex to follow him.
“Nice to meet you, Reiya. We’ll talk again soon.” Dex reached down, took her hand, and gently kissed it.
“Yeah, don’t let her psycho mate see you do that, or he’ll go crazy on you. Trust me.” Weston walked away, chuckling. Dexsmiled at Reiya, then followed after him, leaving Reiya and Reese alone in the large room.
Chapter 55 Leviathan’s concubine?
Reiya turned to Reese. “Well, let’s go get into trouble somewhere.” She giggled, and he chuckled back at her. They heard the sound of high heels clicking, and Reiya turned her head to see who was walking toward them. It was two of the women she saw the other day that were trying their best to flirt with Lee. They were glamoured up from head to toe.
“She probably thinks they all really like her and aren’t just playing politics,” the one girl said snidely to the other.
“Oh, she can’t be that naïve,” the other girl snickered, not so quietly.
Reiya wasn’t about to play the game that she didn’t hear them. The alpha bloodlines that ran through her veins wouldn’t allow it. And even though she couldn’t hear Lumi, she was sure her wolf would agree. “It’s a shame … all that work to make you both presentable, and you still weren’t able to attract a mate. I come out just wearing a t-shirt and shorts and I have them flocking around me.”
The first girl scoffed loudly. “It’s only because of who is paying attention to you. I can’t believe you really did let it go to your head.”
“If you really felt that way, then why are you both so jealous?” Reiya smirked at the two girls, whose eyes were now glaring at her.
“Who would be jealous of the likes of you? I am dragon nobility. The purest of the pure blood. And you ...” The first girl stopped as Reese took an irritated stance beside Reiya.
“Careful … choose your words wisely, or they may end up being your last.” Reese snarled at the girls as his eyes darkened with anger.
“How dare you threaten us?” The second girl raised her hand over her chest, horrified. “We are the great granddaughters of the old King of the Southern Kingdom.”
“Yeah? Well, you are speaking to the future queen of the West Dragon Kingdom, and you will show her the respect she deserves,” Reese snarled in agitation. He was a guard here, buthe also wasn’t a nobody. Xander was his cousin. He was also a tier-one dragon, and he was given the task to protect Reiya. To protect the king’s mate.
“And what is the queen when compared to Leviathan’s concubine?” The first girl curled her lips in a vicious smile.
Reiya almost choked on her spit. His what? Oh, hell no, this girl was not suggesting that.
Reese studied her cautiously. “What do you mean? I haven’t heard anything like that.”
The second girl laughed. “Why would someone like you hear about it? Our grandfather offered us to Leviathan the other day. He told him that even gods have needs and asked him which one of us he wanted.”
“And he picked one of you?” Reiya folded her arms and looked at the girls in disbelief. She did see them talking with Lee the other day, alongside their grandfather. She didn’t doubt that he made the offer either, but Lee never would have accepted.
