“You need to learn your place. Who do you think YOU’RE speaking to? You want to find out the difference in our power? Then keep pushing me. I’ll teach you a lesson right here.” Reiya emanated her powerful aura as she stared at Clovis. The other man was still quietly watching with the same smirk on his face.
“I’ll say this. You touch her and I will burn you alive in two seconds.”
Reiya turned to see Weston marching toward them, his eyes slitted and fixed on Clovis. Clovis immediately backed away. “Sorry, my Lord.” He vanished, knowing that his life was in imminent danger.
“And you.” Weston pointed at Reiya. “You little firecracker. Where are your guards?” He started to reach his hand out toward Reiya.
“Touch me, Weston, and I’m going to bloody your nose again. Last thing I need is you trying to cop a cheap feel.” Reiya raised her brows at Weston, who put his hands up in surrender. He gave her a crooked grin with a shrug.
“How do you know that I’m not getting a cheap thrill when you punch me in the nose? Maybe I’m a masochist, and you causing me pain is what I need for a release.” Weston smiled and winked at her.
“Eeeww, gross. I do not want to know what raises your flagpole. You’re disgusting.” If Xander or Lee heard him, he would easily be dead right now. Joking or not.
“Who marked her?” The other man asked, looking at Weston.
“Xander.” Weston smirked at the man. “She’s too good for him, right?”
“Who are you?” He looked at Reiya with interest.
“I’m Reiya. I’m the fairy princess. And who are you?” Reiya watched the guy’s eyes light up with interest when he heard who she was.
“My name is Dex. I’m the King of the North.”
“Oh, so you’re Dex. I guess it makes sense, then. I heard you can be a bit of a grump.” Reiya had finally met all four rulers of the dragon kingdoms, each in a very interesting way.
Dex and Weston both burst out laughing. “She’s something else, isn’t she?”
“That she is.” Dex nodded and smiled at Reiya. “I’m not a grump. I just don’t socialize with others besides the three idiots who rule the other kingdoms.”
“Hey, I’m not the ruler yet.” Weston didn’t refute the idiot part, though. “And he socializes with us because we’re cool.”
“Yeah, I’m not seeing your cool factor, sooo …” Reiya shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes at Weston.
“Ah … I know what this is.” Weston pursed his lips together and nodded his head sympathetically to Reiya.
“What what is?” Reiya was just waiting for the moron to come out of his mouth.
“It’s dragon envy. So, my sweets, I know it’s hard, but there’s nothing that can be done. I mean, at least you get to sleep with a dragon.” His lips curled up as he flashed her a toothy grin.
Reiya rubbed her forehead and shook her head. She looked at Dex. “I’m surprised you talk to this one. How do you handle being his friend?”
Dex chuckled. “Every group has to have that one friend they pick on, and Weston fills that role nicely.”
Reiya snickered as the look of shock fell on Weston’s face. “Hey! You two are ganging up on me. Since when do you take anyone else’s side but ours?”
“Since I added her to the group, and naturally, she’s higher up than you.” Dex listened to Weston’s dry scoff as he dramatically rolled his eyes.
“You’re adding me to the group? Aww, that means you want to be my friend!” Reiya smiled in excitement. The others made it seem like Dex would be the difficult one to convince because he really didn’t like others.
Dex smiled and nodded. “I feel like you need a friend like me. One that’s more levelheaded and isn’t busy drooling on you or making inappropriate jokes.” He side-eyed Weston, who clutched his heart with fake pain.
“Mason doesn’t do either of those, but if you ask me, he is a bit possessive over her.” Weston clicked his tongue in annoyance. Mason was always bullying him away from ‘his angel’.
“Mason is possessive over her? Hmm ... well, that is interesting. What kind of strange powers have you to captivate him under your spell?”
“She broke the curse! He and Ruby are able to be together now.” Weston was a chatterbox and wasn’t giving Reiya a moment to answer anything.
“You were able to break that curse?” Dex looked at her in awe. That curse was incredibly powerful. It would take someone even more powerful to break it.
