"Zi Yue, what should we do? We can’t keep running..."

Thanks to Murong’s Wind Sorcery, Bai Yu wasn’t worried about being immediately entangled by the monster, especially since Murong had swiftly avoided the creature’s siphon in the dark abyss at the very beginning.

For the time being, with its multitude of tentacles alone, it was temporarily unable to deal with them.

It must be said that they were lucky the monster didn’t have many tricks up its sleeve; otherwise, they would have been utterly out of options.

But even so, the situation was not optimistic.

Though the creature’s tactics were few, it was incredibly patient, and judging by its size, its stamina likely far exceeded that of the three of them.

Murong’s technique was indeed too fast for the monster to catch, but underwater, maintaining such speed came at great expense to Murong’s energy.

As time went on, if the monster did not give up the pursuit, the three of them might truly be in danger!

"Let’s head to higher ground first...." Zi Yue said calmly, "There is light up there. Even if we can’t stop it from chasing us, at least we can make it uncomfortable. As for other situations, let’s wait for Chen Qing."

"Chen Qing?" Murong Yunji was taken aback, "Is he still in here?"

"He should be." Zi Yue narrowed her eyes, "If I’m not mistaken, this Spatial Array made of a huge amount of Jade Stones is independently segmented. These biological weapons definitely won’t be placed together.

These things are obviously unruly; if put together, they would certainly fight each other! "

"If Chen Qing can’t kill the monster, he can only flee.

Logically, he should jump from here to another space.

If such an Array were to be activated, the disturbance would be tremendous, and I would surely notice.

Moreover, in such an enclosed space, after opening up, it would take time to close.

Chen Qing couldn’t possibly jump to the next space in such a short time.

Most likely... he’s still looking for the switch. "

"I see...." Realization dawned on Bai Yu, "You mean to say that we should escape when Chen Qing opens the space?"

"We have no other choice...." Zi Yue looked at the countless tentacles, "I can’t think of a way to kill this monster underwater at least for now."

Such a massive creature must have formidable vitality, and the most effective Fire Sorcery is extremely difficult to execute underwater, making it almost certain that this thing is nearly invincible in the depths!

"But we don’t know where Chen Qing is. Can we catch up in time when he opens the space?" Bai Yu furrowed her brows.

Upon hearing this, Zi Yue gave her a cold look, "Still thinking of holding back?"

"What do you mean?" Bai Yu was taken aback.

"With your personality, after collaborating with Chen Qing and letting him develop so freely, wouldn’t you leave a contingency on him?" Zi Yue said with a cold smile, "If you’re not going to use it now, when do you plan to?"

Bai Yu: "...."

"I told you when we cooperated before that information must be shared. If you truly intend to keep a contingency plan, then we’ll have to part ways. But I must remind you, if we split up, the one at a loss will certainly not be me!"

"Look at what you’re saying." Bai Yu immediately laughed coyly, the man’s face breaking into a charming smile, "I guess I can’t hide even a little bit of cunning from you...."

"Where is Chen Qing?"

"Forty thousand zhang below us, in a spot...." Bai Yu didn’t beat around the bush and said directly, "He’s been circling there, and I don’t know why."

"Circling?" Murong asked curiously, "In the same place?"

"Yes..." Bai Yu nodded, "It’s a bit puzzling because the creature should be at the bottom of the sea. His circling there seems rather dangerous."

Zi Yue fell into thought as she looked down.

As a former experimental weapon, she had some understanding of biological evolution.

The monster in this space was of immense size, chasing down prey with its tentacles.

If she wasn’t mistaken, the main body was likely so vast it was impractical for it to move, hence it evolved these tentacles for capturing prey.

However, the lethality of its main body should not be underestimated. Wouldn’t Chen Qing, circling around underwater like that, fear the approach of the creature’s main body?

"That place must be where the switch for the Spatial Array you mentioned is, right?" Bai Yu asked.

"Most likely...." Zi Yue murmured, "Under such pursuit, his physical strength must also be greatly depleted. He wouldn’t be aimlessly moving around there for no reason. Most probably, there is a way out, but why hasn’t he acted?"

"Hasn’t found the exact location?" Bai Yu immediately analyzed.

"That’s a possibility, but there’s also the chance that...."

"Also the chance what?"

Zi Yue’s expression was complicated as she spoke softly, "There’s also the possibility that... he doesn’t want to open it now!"

"Why?" Now even the clever Bai Yu was puzzled at first.

"He fears the monster will follow him out."

"What did you say?" Bai Yu was startled.

"This creature... it might not be safe to let it out." Zi Yue speculated, "It’s likely that Chen Qing determined that if it got out, the threat would be immense."

Bai Yu looked at Zi Yue strangely, "So what if the threat is immense? By opening the Dragon Palace, hasn’t he shown that he doesn’t care about the so-called common folk?"

"Perhaps so..." Zi Yue laughed, "After all, idiots like the King of Qin who are concerned about the common folk... they are always in the minority in this world..."

Boom!!

While they were talking, the entire space suddenly fell into a massive tumult as an extremely powerful fluctuation came from the depths of the sea.

The tentacles that had been pursuing the three of them stopped their chase the instant they appeared in this space and then retracted lightning-fast toward the location at the bottom of the sea!

"Looks like they’ve made their move!" Bai Yu immediately said with a smile, "Shall we follow now?"

Zi Yue nodded slightly, sensing the fluctuation of space below the sea floor. If she was not wrong, Chen Qing must have opened a Spatial Array and isolated it.

It seems her thoughts were correct. Fools like the King of Qin who consider the welfare of the common folk... they are truly few and far between...

---------------------------

"This way!"

The massive current, with another space being opened, was swiftly sucked in, forming a storm that plunged the sea floor into utter chaos.

But no matter how chaotic the scene, it couldn’t stop Murong Yunji, a top-level practitioner of Wind Sorcery.

Even though it was strenuous in such an environment, with her full strength, her speed was still astonishing, far surpassing that of the huge creature.

The three of them followed the chaotic currents, ahead of the terrifying howls behind them, and entered the spatial turbulence.

The link between the spaces was shorter than Zi Yue had imagined.

She had thought that the connection between the two spaces would be extremely difficult to traverse, but that wasn’t the case.

Following the direction of the spatial flow, it took the three of them only a quarter of an hour to reach the other side.

The currents that followed them into the other space suddenly fell calm, and then what came into view was a sea area full of dazzling colors.

Compared to the dark and deep place they had just come from, this new sea area was incredibly beautiful.

Everywhere were colorful lights, colorful corals, and gemstones covering the ground, a sight so beautiful it left the three of them bewildered.

This vibrant scene was in stark contrast to the deadly silence of the place with the giant octopus monster; it was like two different worlds.

And indeed, they were two different worlds.

"Quite beautiful..." Murong commented, looking around and casually whistling.

Wrapped in Wind Sorcery, the three of them could hear her whistling as extremely shrill.

"Don’t move recklessly..." Zi Yue cautioned as she vigilantly surveyed their surroundings, "Look around!"

"What about around us?" the Straw Man in Zi Yue’s arms complained, "There’s nothing special. This place is much nicer looking than that ghostly spot we came from."

"Nice looking doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous. The prettier it is, often the more dangerous it is..." Zi Yue pointed to something not far away. The three of them looked carefully and then noticed something was amiss.

The sky was full of colors, true, but upon closer inspection, they noticed the entire sea was filled with hair-like strands. These strands floated gracefully, even playfully interacting with the colorful fish that came close.

"What are those?" Murong frowned, about to approach one for a closer look when her pupils suddenly shrank.

She saw one of the hair strands rapidly pierce the body of a fish like a spike.

The once lively fish instantly stiffened, its eyes rolled back, and without even struggling, it was pulled into the quicksand by the spiky strand!

In an instant, Murong understood that beneath the thick quicksand at the bottom of the sea, there was likely another terrifying creature lurking. Just the sight of the nearly endless hair strands made it clear that this creature was not small.

As they were pondering, a terrifying scream came from behind.

Their hearts tightened, knowing the tentacle monster had arrived.

The next moment, with the roar approaching, a terrifying current swept over, with countless tentacles overwhelming the sky as they invaded from another space! The two spaces, along with the giant creature, collided as it made its way over!

This exaggerated scene naturally scared away the thousands of fish, but not the dense hair strands!

As the tentacles invaded for an instant, the dense hair strands turned into ice needles, sharp as can be, and rapidly stabbed toward the tentacle monster!

The formerly calm colorful sea floor also began to churn as the rulers of two spaces clashed immediately upon contact.
