If there’s a breakout... Heaven’s Court is done for!

The elders in Heaven’s Court actually all know the strengths and weaknesses of its forces.

Among the four major powers, only Heaven’s Court is located in Outer Space, while the other forces are dispersed and hidden in various spaces across the continent.

The advantages of Heaven’s Court are naturally many: from its high vantage point, it can assess the situation and strike when timely, the second being the concentration of its forces, allowing it a swift activation to seize the initiative quickly.

Therefore, in previous eras, even Buddha Kingdom couldn’t surpass Heaven’s Court in seizing the initiative.

But the disadvantages are also apparent: the concentration of resources and lack of outposts in the Mortal World mean that if this place is breached one day, it would be as if it’s been struck as before.

Currently, the Divine Generals of the entire Heaven’s Court have not recovered to their peak; to clash head-on with so many Demons is impossible. Strength must be concentrated for a breakout, but if a breakout were to happen, what would become of all those resources? How would they be preserved?

If preservation is impossible, how can it ensure all Heavenly Generals restore their strength in the future?

No one is foolish, once Heaven’s Court decides to break out, it will surely abandon at least half of its people.

At present status, who will be abandoned is obvious!

At this moment, many Divine Generals silently exchange glances, making the entire atmosphere extremely strange and heavy.

"The Divine General has replied!" Sharp-Hearing Ear speaks with delight.

Everyone glanced over sharply, whether it was Elder Long at the top levels or the Demon subordinates at the lowest levels, they all cared about this topic.

For Elder Long, he naturally hopes Ziwei will return safely to handle the situation, as Heaven’s Court faces this great change and still needs time to adjust. If they hastily break out, the losses would be huge, making it difficult to take advantage against Old Liu’s men at that time.

For the lower-level Demon Heavenly Generals, they’ve stayed in Heaven’s Court for so long and don’t want to leave easily. Even though the leaders are biased and they, as Demons, can never integrate into the inner core, they live better drinking modestly than being lone wanderers in Outer Space.

Life in Outer Space, only those who lived it know. It was dark and devoid of warmth, every day spent finding ways to gather more heat, eating sparingly for survival, for without heat, one faced the tragic fate of being frozen as stone.

Many of them have experienced devouring companions or even going mad with hunger and devouring themselves.

While staying in Heaven’s Court, at least... they don’t starve.

Though they live like dogs, at least they’re dogs that have food.

"What does he say?" The Heavenly Emperor suddenly stood up, sensing the possibility from Sharp-Hearing Ear’s tone.

"The Divine General said that he must repay the favor of recognition. Now that Your Majesty has made this decision, he can only try his best. After this event, he and Heaven’s Court will be even, thus requesting Your Majesty to take care!"

These words were conveyed verbatim, and upon hearing them, even the suspicious Elder Long displayed a hint of guilt on his face.

Over the years, the Divine General followed him without complaint, only because he was valued at the foundational data level. He always endured grievances without a word of dissent, yet Elder Long constantly guarded against him, never daring to give him the best resources.

Now it seems the most useful and loyal of Heaven’s Court was never those trusted old subordinates.

Perhaps... he was truly mistaken.

Everyone, immediately reinforce the four gates, hold out until Ziwei Star Lord returns. Anyone who beheads a demon will earn military merit, with rewards doubled?

Following the Heavenly Emperor’s proclamation, all Divine Generals finally moved into action.

Even upon hearing that demons have infiltrated the Four Heavenly Gates, the lower-level Divine Generals had no intention to support because rushing to death seemed pointless and merely served as rearguard for nobles. Nobody wants to do something so silly.

Yet now, those preparing to support the four directions harbor doubts.

"Boss, do you think what Sharp-Hearing Ear said is true?"

The lower-level Divine Generals mostly form splintered small groups, which Elder Long intentionally fostered to prevent the lower-levels from gaining too much power.

"Who can say for sure?" The Divine General called Boss was originally a great ape, face darkened: "Who among those old ones is trustworthy? They even dare to cleanse Heavenly Pond with blood, our Demon origins might make us the next blood feast."

Others heard his words and their faces turned grim, many realizing upon witnessing the blood wash of Heavenly Pond that their fate could be similar.

Uncertain of the timing, many prepared to flee once Heaven’s Court starts to attack the ground.

"Once we see the opportunity, act accordingly, don’t foolishly rush forward, save energy, ready to break out at any moment."

Those outsiders are unreliable, ultimately we must rely on ourselves. As Demon origins, once outside the encirclement, strip off our armor and we’d look similar to those Demons, likely blending in to escape.

"But... big brother, where would we go? Do we return to our primitive, brutish life in Outer Space?"

Surrounding Divine Generals expressed unwillingness. Staying in Heaven’s Court so long, despite many injustices, life’s better than wandering Outer Space. In the Lower Realm, ancient underlings respectfully call them Immortals, even Dragon Kings are cautious to offend them.

But now, leaving Heaven’s Court and returning to their old Demon life, how could they survive?

"The world is vast, where is there not a place to dwell?" The Boss gritted his teeth: "Previously when that one left Heaven’s Court, he invited me. Going now, I wouldn’t have the same status, but seeking shelter wouldn’t be a problem."

"Who is this big brother?" Others paused, realizing he referred to the Victorious Fighting Buddha who defected from Heaven’s Court and became a major general in Buddha Kingdom.

"He... would he welcome us?" Others hesitated.

As the saying goes, offering help in difficult times is hard, adding flowers to brocades is easy. Now he’s esteemed, would he accept his old brethren who’ve fallen into disgrace?

Victorious Fighting Buddha was also haughty, going now to seek refuge might not be welcomed."

"If all else fails, with Chen Qing..."

"Chen Qing?" A female general shrieked: "What is he? Does he deserve?"

"He doesn’t deserve?" The Boss coldly glanced at the squealing female general: "Forcing the Heavenly Emperor to such embarrassment, risking Three-Eyed’s potential demise, was Chen Qing. You disdain him not deserving? Whether he’d even take us in is the question!"
