There’s a first time for everything, and of course, the first time for this is with this woman I worship.
“So we were right,” she says from next to me in the tiny bed. “It’s not when you come or when I come. It must be together.”
“Just give me a few minutes.” I run my fingertip along the edge of her nose.
She looks at the clock. “Tonya will be on the first boat.”
“It’ll happen by then.”
She turns to me. “What if that’s not the trick? What if you don’t change back?”
“I’ll get to fuck you again and again.”
“Before or after they sic the dogs on you?”
“How about both?”
She rolls onto her shoulder to face me fully. The moonlight catches the tip of her nose, accentuating the deep curve of it. “You’re not taking this seriously.”
“I’ve been as good as dead for a long time. I’ll die happy this time knowing I had a night with you.”
“Okay, that’s sweet, really. But if you don’t change back tonight, we have to get you some clothes and get you on a boat. I’ll take the cart into town and buy… ah, fuck.”
“Another minute and I’ll be ready.”
“No, I mean… ‘ah, fuck I need the screwdriver to get the cart going.’ I only brought one flathead. And look at you. I can’t jam you between the ignition and the converter.”
“What about the house?” I kiss her shoulder and work across her body. “Someone in there has to wear pants.”
“I can’t get in without getting shot.”
“Isn’t the party tomorrow in the main house? He invited you.”
“I don’t want to go .”
“Of course not.”
She’s right. She shouldn’t go. I wanted to protect her for a reason. Duke is a menace to women and there will be a house full of men like him. These clowns aren’t any less dangerous for being in a circus.
But her breasts are so soft and her nipple is so hard between my lips that I give up on problem-solving for now.
“You seem pretty ready,” she says, running her fingers through my hair.
“I am. What about you?”
“I could go.”
“You could ?”
“Could do.” She smiles and shrugs.
“This might be the last time I fuck you.” I push her onto her back and kneel over her, where I can take in her magnificence. “When you need to, we go.”
