The plea nearly bursts from my lips. Instead, I rush out, “One” like Daddy told me to. He lands another blow, this time on to opposite cheek. “Two,” I shout.

“Three…” Smack. “Four…” Smack. “Five…”

He rains them down, one after another, warming my bottom in a way that soothes everything in me. I go limp at some point asthe noise in my head finally ceases. By the time he stops, I can’t remember counting anything higher than fifteen.

“You did so well, cookie. Daddy is proud of you. I love you so much.”

Daddy turns me around on his lap, then eases me until I’m positioned over his thighs sideways. He looks me over, taking in what I imagine is a completely disheveled appearance.

“We might need to clean you up a bit, baby. Our friends might have something to say if they see you in this state. I have a feeling they’ll know what we’re up to anyway since your bottom will be sore for a bit, huh?”

I nod since words feel too big right now. Daddy takes the reply in stride, helping me stand and then taking me to our bedroom to freshen up.

It’s nearly half an hour later that we walk into Donny and Grant’s place. They take one look at us, then share a look of their own. I blush at the way they grin after that. Their expressions say they knowsomethinghappened to make us late. Thankfully, they don’t call us out on it.

Webster and Calvin greet us warmly, neither commenting on the time either. The pair jump into asking us our opinion about a specific restaurant we told them we were going to try. Conversation evolves into food favorites, post-holiday plans, and what everyone got one another for Christmas.

It’s as we’re talking that I realize I hadn’t given Daddy his gift. I worry my lip, hesitant to do anything in front of the whole group. They won’t judge me, but it could still go badly if we’re not careful.

“What’s wrong, cookie?” Daddy asks when I’m quiet for too long.

I shake my head. “It’s… it’s nothing.”

Donny snorts, the traitor. “Yeah, right. I know that look. You did something—or maybe you want to do something—and you’renervous. Don’t be afraid, bestie! We all support you. Be a tough cookie!”

A giggle pops out of me at the pun. It’s just like him to make me giggle when I feel close to puking from nerves.

Taking a deep breath, I turn to Daddy. “I was wondering how you feel about getting a dog. It was going to be your Christmas gift, but I didn’t want to go pick one without you. You’d mentioned wanting a pet, and I figured an older dog would be the best fit for our work schedules.”

“I think that sounds great. Why were you so nervous about asking me, though? It’s a great gift idea. We get to be pet parents!”

“Yeah, about that part…” I climb out of the chair, pushing it back so I can drop to my knees. Screw social norms, we’re going all out.

Daddy’s eyes go wide, as do everyone else’s. I hear a fork clatter to a plate and an ‘oh, shit’ from Webster.

“This might not seem like the right time or place, but I don’t want to wait anymore. The real gift I have to give you is me. I want to be yours in every way that matters. I want to be your husband and be fur dads together. I’ll always be your cookie no matter what your response is though. You won’t lose me if this is too soon.”

I pull out the ring box from my pocket. It’s pure luck I hadn’t grabbed it before he spanked me earlier. He surely would have felt it against his leg or touched it when he stripped me.

“Baby,” Daddy coos. “My precious boy. I would love to marry you. In fact?—”

He reaches into his own pocket and pulls out a similar-sized black box. I gasp, eyes flicking between him and the box as my heart races.

“I was planning to wait until we got back home. Seems you beat me to the punch. No surprise there considering it wasyour letter to Santa that started this all. You’re forever one step ahead.”

“Now we can step ahead together, Daddy. You’ll be mine, and I’ll be yours.”

“For every Christmas we have left.”

He pulls me into a kiss as the room erupts with applause.

Thanks, Santa. You really outdid yourself this time.
