“I hope so,” Anthony said. “It’s already overwhelming. But I like it.”

“Me too.” Cameron leaned closer.

Anthony pulled back while pressing his lips together. Then he turned his head away. “I probably have morning breath.”

“I probably don’t care.”

“I do though.”

“Would orange juice help?”

“Yes.”

“Be right back.” Cameron threw back the blankets and padded out of the room, well aware that he was completely nude. Especially when he returned with a drink in each hand. He went to Anthony’s side of the bed, still fully exposed when handing him a glass.

“I don’t think I’m ever gonna get enough,” Anthony said, staring openly. “And I can see that the feeling is mutual.”

“We have all day.” Cameron walked around the bed to get beneath the covers, the house still nippy. “Don’t we?”

“I’ll have to make an appearance at home in the afternoon,” Anthony said. “But you could come with me.”

“Except you were supposed to be staying with Omar, so if we arrive together….”

“Oh right. How about you show up a little later and be my next excuse to leave?”

“Perfect! That means we have all morning.” Cameron took another sip of juice before setting it on the nightstand. Using a coaster, of course. “I’ll make you breakfast. How do you like your eggs?”

“You can cook?”

“Yeah.”

Anthony whistled appreciatively. “And just when I thought you couldn’t get any better. Scrambled, by the way.”

“Good. We’ll get some food in our bellies and take a shower together. After we’re dressed, we’ll find a church and get married.”

Anthony snorted while taking a drink, but luckily, none of it shot out of his nose. “We’ll dowhat?”

“Get married,” Cameron repeated. “Why wait? You’re easy on the eyes, fun to hang with,andyou’re great in the sack. What’s left to figure out?”

“Our entire lives,” Anthony said. “How about we skip straight to the honeymoon?”

“Sounds like a plan,” Cameron said, sliding out of bed. “I’ll get breakfast started and then we’ll—”

A hand grabbed his wrist, stopping him.

“I’m not hungry,” Anthony said. “Help me work up an appetite first.”

Cameron let himself be pulled back into bed where, under a barrage of orange-juice flavored kisses, he succumbed once more to the forces of love.

CHAPTER 23

December 28th, 1992

“Go on, man! Go go go!” Omar pushed his best friend up the stairs, desperate for them to reach the privacy of his bedroom. Anthony tripped and fell over, so Omar scrambled past him, grabbed his hands, and began pulling instead.

“Would you stop?” Anthony laughed.

“Huh-uh,” Omar said while still yanking. “Hey, Yasmin! Get your butt out here and help me carry this deadweight!”
