Page 4 of One Night
Chapter one
Willow
“Wills, are you sure you're not mad?” Mom asks.
I swear she has asked me this for the tenth time since last night.
She and Marcos want to go on a mini honeymoon.
Marcos sprung this on her while we were at family dinner last night.
They’ve only been married for six months, but that doesn't stop them from acting like they’ve been married for years.
He’s good for her, even though he bred the bane of my current existence, Kash.
He is my new stepbrother and a huge pain in the ass.
“I’m not mad, Mom. You deserve to be spoiled. Plus, I am an adult, you know.” I respond, showing her my genuine smile.
“Thank you, baby. I promise I’ll bring you and your brother back some souvenirs.” She reaches out, embracing me in a hug.
“He’s not my brother, Mom.” I huff.
Ugh. Me and that fucker are not siblings in any way, shape, or form. He is lucky I even allow him to breathe the same air as me. If I could, I’d smother that fucker with a pillow or beat him with a bag of dimes. Better yet, I should just fuck his best friend, Mace, but he is equally an asshole.
“I know, but it would be nice if you could try and get along with him,” she says, kissing me on the forehead before walking over toward my door. “At least try for me and don’t kill him while we are away.”
“No promises, but I’ll try,” I smirk, watching her walk out the door.
