“This is what you wanted, baby. You wantedme.Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
My feet slide in the snow, leaving behind a trail of red as he drags me back by my hair to a parked car farther down the road. Maybe it’s foolish of me not to scream. But I don’t. The scream that wants to cut through the night stays buried in my chest, tied down by the darkest desires of my psyche. Desires for destruction and carnage.
Desires that whisper from the recesses of my mind, telling me how right this madness feels. How we’re not so dissimilar, me and Robbie.
We’re both killers.
Starved creatures of the night.
And the last thing I want is for the cops to catch wind that the man they’re hunting has caught his prey.

SAVANNAH
Robbie bundles me inside the car with his fingers tangled in my hair. I peer around as he shuts the door. Empty soda cans litter the backseat, and it reeks of stale cigarettes and neglect. Whoever owns this car is a messy person.
They’re also probably dead.
I swallow at the thought.
The car rocks and Robbie slides inside, still wearing that mask. Shivers splash down my spine when his head twists to take me in. I wish I could see his eyes, to see the man behind the evil, the man who insists he has to stay in complete control or he’ll hurt me.
Reaching between the seats, he grabs a length of rope I didn’t see before, and my eyes widen as he overpowers me in the small space. He secures my arms behind my back and circles the rope around me more times than I can count before pulling it tight and knotting it with a practiced expertise that washes over me like a bucket of cold water. All the while, I struggle, kicking out with my legs, desperately trying to knee him. I even attempt to bite him, but he grabs my cheeks in a ruthless grip.
His deep, gravelly voice drips with authority. “Baby, I won’t hesitate to hurt you if you keep fighting me. In fact, I’ll enjoy it. Is that what you want? To see my hands coated in your blood? Or will you be a good girl and see what surprise I have waiting for you?”
Surprise?
His unspoken words send a long shiver over my body, a foreboding I can’t shake.
He pushes off me and buckles me in, ensuring the seatbelt is secure before he eases back into his seat and cranks the engine.
The heater blasts cold air at my face.
After checking the mirrors, Robbie pulls away from the secluded spot, and we drive in silence. I try to move my arms, but the rope around me is too tight.
“Whose car is this?” I ask, my shoulder joints aching.
Robbie doesn’t reply, and his silence unnerves me more than I’d like to admit. I squirm in my seat and arch my back, trying to move my wrists, to no avail. “Where are you taking me?”
“You’ll soon see.” His cold baritone washes over me like a dark threat on a chilly night.
“You’re scaring me, Robbie.” I try to steady my voice without success. “I’m scared.”
With one hand hanging over the steering wheel, he slaps his palm against the dashboard and pops the glovebox open to reveal a Glock.
My eyes widen.
He collects it and puts it to my temple, then rolls his head casually on the headrest. His eyes bounce between the side of my face and the empty, dark road with nothing but the shadowy night stretching out in front of us.
Every muscle in my body locks up. I’m frozen, not daring to breathe or make a single noise. A whimper claws its way up my throat before I force it back with a swallow.
Seemingly mesmerized, Robbie drags the gun down my temple and over my cheek and mouth before tapping my lips twice with the cold metal. It trails over my chin, down my throat, and stomach until it’s right there, at the apex of my thighs, pressing against my swollen clit. Robbie rubs the weapon over my most sensitive parts, causing my arousal to dampen the thin cotton fabric.
“So needy,” he taunts, shoving the T-shirt up with the barrel before dipping it inside my shorts.
I gasp as the cold metal slides over my slick folds. My legs open of their own volition, and pleasure sparks between my legs, made more intense by the heady fear mixing with the heat swirling low in my core.
