“Rocky?” Felix asked.

“Just relax, guys,” Rocky said calmly. “Everything is going to be okay.”

“So touching,” Asher, aka One, said. “You guys can get in the van willingly with assistance, or we can throw you in. Your choice.”

“Fine,” Felix said. “I’ll go peacefully.” His captor helped Felix into the van. Since it was made to haul cargo and not people, there were no seats in the back. He propped Felix up against the far side of the van and stepped out.

“I’ll go next,” Jude volunteered.

The van rocked as two men climbed inside. Jude was placed on Felix’s right side. The warmth of Jude’s body seeped into Felix and chased away the chill that had settled in his bones. Felix scooted over until he was pressed entirely up against Jude’s side and rested his head against Jude’s shoulder.

“We’re going out of town for a romantic weekend getaway as soon as this is over,” Jude said.

Felix chuckled. He loved Jude’s confidence, but Felix thought maybe he was being too presumptuous this time. Regardless of Rocky’s nonchalance, Felix felt it would be a miracle if they survived the night.

If that were the case…Be courageous in love.

“Jude,” Felix said.

“Hmmm?”

“I love you,” Felix said. “I always have, and I always will.”

Jude sucked in a sharp breath, and his body shuddered. “I love you too, Ace.”

“What about me?” Rocky asked. The pout in his voice made Felix grin.

“You’re my best friend, Major,” Felix said. “Of course, I love you. I’m totally kicking your ass for suggesting we get off the fucking boat though.”

“My bad,” Rocky said.

“Aww. How sweet,” Four said. “I was dead set against this mission, but I’m damn glad you guys talked me into it.”

“Watch your hands, Asher,” Rocky said as he was shoved inside the van and sat on Felix’s other side. “I don’t think you’re supposed to be grabbing people there.”

“Oops,” Asher replied. “My hand slipped.”

“So will my fist once you untie my wrists,” Rocky countered.

“Kinky,” Three said.

“More like ouch,” Four remarked.

“Everyone get in the van and shut the hell up,” Asher commanded.

Two men rode in the front, and the other two climbed into the cargo hold with Felix, Jude, and Rocky, although Felix didn’t know which goon sat where.

Whoever was behind the wheel showed no concerns for their safety as he drove fast and braked hard. Felix had started out keeping track of the turns they’d made but lost track after a while. It was hard to tell if some of the changes in direction were due to sharp bends in a country road or an actual turn.

“Where are you taking us?” Jude asked.

“Would we have put hoods over your faces if we wanted you to know?” Two asked from a few feet away.

“Nice try though,” Asher said. He was also in the cargo section of the van with them, which put Three and Four in the front.

They rode in silence for what seemed like hours before the vehicle finally came to a stop.

“Honey, we’re home,” Asher said.
