Felix turned and caught Jude staring at his phone in disbelief. Then he jerked his head up and met Felix’s gaze. “She hung up on me.”

“The Shark has no time for bullshit. Looks like we’re going to Atlanta next weekend.”

Jude scowled. “Atlanta isn’t romantic.”

“Says you.” Felix crossed the room, took the phone from Jude’s hand, and set it on his desk. He looped his arms around Jude’s neck, while Jude settled his hands on Felix’s hips. “What if we visit all our old haunts?”

Jude pressed a brief kiss on Felix’s lips. “Relive some of our big moments, perhaps?”

Felix laughed. “I’m not sure how Emory would feel about us breaking into your old dorm.”

“True,” Jude conceded. “I was referring to the moment on the quad when I watched you walk away. I want a redo.”

Felix tipped his head to the side while he thought about it. What if Jude had persisted and Felix had backed down? Would they have shared these past fourteen years together? If so, Felix wouldn’t have moved back to Savannah and landed his dream job. He might not have repaired his relationship with his mom. Felix would never have met Jonah, Rocky, Avery, and Marla. More importantly, Felix wouldn’t have learned to stand on his own. He was stronger for the hardships and heartaches. They’d made him wiser, bolder, and braver.

“I think things turned out how they were supposed to,” Felix finally said. “Rather than a do-over, let’s call it a second chance tour.” Felix winced because the name was too close to Spencer’s program.

Jude pulled Felix tighter against his chest. “Fresh start?”

Felix shook his head. “That sounds like we’re trying to rebuild our credit after bankruptcy.” Then the answer hit him. “I say we call it our happily ever after.”

Jude smiled, showing off those adorable dimples before he lowered his head and kissed Felix until he was breathless.

So long for now…
