Kaz
WAKING UP to a sleeping Miles wrapped around him was surreal. The fact that he wanted to burrow even closer? Hold on tighter? He wasn’t sure what the fuck was happening but as much as it terrified him, he couldn’t deny how much he wanted it. How much he wanted Miles.
He buried his nose in Miles’s hair, breathing in deeply, smiling as the scent of his minty shampoo filled his nose.
He brushed Miles’s hair off his forehead, something clenching in his chest at the sight of a relaxed and sleeping Miles.
He might even like the sight of that more than an angry and worked-up Miles.
Not more than that fiery look in his eyes as he’d fucked him into oblivion, though.
He wasn’t sure anything would ever top that.
His lips twitched at the thought.
He extracted his arm from under Miles’s head and pulled the sheets back up over Miles once he got to his feet.
He shook his head at himself, unsure what exactly he was feeling because this wasn’t the usual satisfaction after a good fuck.
It felt like more somehow. It felt like something had changed.
Miles was deep asleep and didn’t stir while Kaz dressed in shorts and a T-shirt.
He shrugged into his cut and glanced at Miles’s sleeping form before heading out of the door.
He walked down the stairs and cringed when the smell of booze and sweat filled the air.
Someone had cleaned up the bar but there were still empty bottles and bowls of abandoned snacks on the coffee tables.
He crossed the room, nodding at the few people who’d gotten up and were sprawling on the couches. He pushed open the door to the kitchen and nearly collided with Miles’s dad, Nash. He stepped back to let Nash through the door.
“Hey, Kaz,” Nash said, giving him a warm smile. “Have you seen Miles?”
“Yeah. I think he’s still asleep.” Someone had worn him out last night. He didn’t say that, though. “He crashed with me yesterday.”
“Oh?”
The surprise on Nash’s face was to be expected.
Despite their parents trying their best to force them to become besties over the years, they hadn’t exactly succeeded.
Or perhaps they’d really superseded their expectations, considering what the two of them had done yesterday.
Not to mention early this morning. That was a handjob he’d likely never forget.
Not when he’d made Miles damned near yell his name.
Miles had muffled it by biting into Kaz’s shoulder and leaving behind a bruise, which was the only reason he’d bothered to put on a shirt this morning.
“Zayne and a few of the others went to buy us all some breakfast. They should be back soon,” Nash said .
“Want me to go wake Miles?”
“If you wouldn’t mind?”
“No problem.”
It would only be a problem if anyone else went to wake Miles, considering he was very naked and in Kaz’s bed.
His dad carrying a big duffle bag caught his eye, reminding him that most of the guys were going on a run he hadn’t been invited to. He’d been pissed as all hell when he’d found out, but now a plan was starting to take form in his mind.
He already knew from texting with Emma yesterday that she was staying with her boyfriend because her and Miles’s parents were going on a one-week vacation starting tomorrow.
He looked back at Nash and smiled sweetly.
“I invited Miles to stay while you’re on vacation, so he doesn’t have to be home alone. I’m mostly gonna be spending my time here anyway,” he said with a shrug, trying to go for nonchalant.
“You…? He said yes?” Nash asked, blinking at Kaz.
“Yeah.”
Well, he figured Miles would say yes. Once he asked him.
“But…”
The frown line on Nash’s forehead had Kaz tensing up.
“Oh, yeah, we worked our out shit yesterday. Spent half the night playing video games.”
“You did?” Nash’s smile was a mix of relief and confusion .
Kaz nodded, smiling wide.
“Sure. I mean it’s really up to him what with him being an adult and all,” Nash said, almost as if he was reminding himself.
“They grow up so fast, eh?”
Nash nodded with a sigh. “At least we have another year before Emma leaves us.”
“I doubt she’s going far,” he said with a wry smile at Nash.
“Here’s to hoping,” Nash said.
He watched Nash walk toward the couches for a moment and then he turned and made his way back upstairs, a wide smile spreading on his face.
