Chapter Twenty-One

LOGAN

Iclose the apartment door behind us and lean against it. Sloane sets her bag down and moves toward the living room. She stops on the rug, turns to face me, and holds my gaze.

I close the distance between us and stand before her, close enough to see her rapid breaths and dilated pupils, yet far enough to avoid touching her. “On your knees,” I command.

She obeys without a word and kneels.

“Take it out.”
