Page 18 of Knot Enough
SEVENTEEN
After bathing, I crept into the bedroom. Axel braced his shoulders against the wall, rubbing his chin. He stared at the ground, unfocused.
Low, deep murmurs reached my ears. Wood creaked under my weight, and the voices cut off.
Axel turned, and his gaze clashed with mine; whatever had been clouding them disappeared with his focus on me. He waved a hand at the folded clothing at the edge of the bed.
“You’ll have to wear this for now.” A small grimace rippled over his expression. At least there was no wondering if it’d fit me. Dropping the towel, I pinched the edge of the huge shirt.
There was no need for embarrassment. After all, it was Axel.
Licking my lips, I slipped it on, and the ends tickled my thighs. Cotton draped over the swell of my belly. Eucalyptus sifted into the room, accompanied by footsteps—Oak, the Beta. Oak was the leanest of the four, yet still massive. His staying here surprised me; usually, he lingered around Rath.
I rolled my shoulders. After the bath, I felt human. I shuddered, raking my hands through my long, damp hair.
“Ready?” Axel asked.
“For what?—”
He swept me up, bracing his arm under my back and the other below my knees.
I gasped. My feet kicked in the air.
“What are you doing?” Panic tightened my throat, and I clawed my fingers into his shoulders.
Axel stopped his drive forward and frowned at me.
“I won’t hurt you, honey.”
The words were a balm, and I went limp. Instinctively, I wanted to fight, so I had to force my muscles to relax.
Axel held my gaze a few seconds more. Sincerity blared in his gaze. My hard breathing calmed with his calmness.
He still hadn’t moved, so I slowly nodded.
A satisfied smile spread on his lips. With only that look, he managed to comfort me in a way I never had been before.
His heavy steps thudded down the hall. I stared wide-eyed at the wood panels making up the wall and the dark brown shades of the staircase.
He was taking me outside. No fucking way. Letting me go?
Did I want to go home?
I clutched the front of his shirt tighter.
I didn’t want to leave him. He approached a tall SUV, heading for the wide-open back seat.
Before I could spiral, he thumped me on the tan leather. Kane gripped the steering wheel with one hand. The weight of his gaze settled on my face. I met his intense eyes for a second and then dropped them.
Everything moved quickly from there.
Axel hopped into the passenger side and settled back. Both their seats dropped so far back that I had to huddle in the middle section.
Tires revved on the smooth pavement of the drive, and Kane peeled away from the house.
I didn’t want to ask, but sitting here would make me crazy.
“I . . .”
I breathed in and tried again.
“Where are you taking me?”
Would they kill me and dump me somewhere? If I’d read our connection wrong, it was possible. Freedom was an arm's length away, and my attention kept being dragged to the door lever.
Axel reached over and gripped my knee.
I gasped at the soft dig of his fingers.
“Don’t think about it.” His head swung to look at me, and he frowned, gaze dropping to my trembling hands. “Fucking Rath,” he gritted between teeth. “You’re safe.”
His tone became soft, gentle. A wave of calm breathed into me.
I trusted Axel.
Kane stepped on the gas and took a sharp turn through a large open metal gate. The wooden arch above it stated Reaper Vineyards, and that’s exactly what the view became, rolling hills of vineyards, so far off that I couldn’t see the end of them.
Kane pulled into a gravel pathway forking to the left, and it led to a large farmhouse-style structure. One you’d see in a southern brochure. A porch wrapped around the eggshell colored building. Based on the windows, it stretched about three floors.
Kane cut the engine, and a woman in dark pants, cotton shirt, and bun atop her head bounced down the steps.
Axel opened my door and held out his hand. Hesitantly, I took it, and he jerked me into his arms.
“I can walk.”
“No shoes.” He tipped his chin at my bare feet. Gravel grated with his steps. I preferred being in his arms, plus my body already hurt; I didn’t need to add to it.
“Sir, I’ve set up the area you asked for.”
My nose twitched. I hadn’t realized how crippled I’d been without my sense of smell. Female Beta. Kane walked past her and up the steps, Axel and I a bit behind him.
She peeked over at me, and the bridge of her nose wrinkled. Then her expression twitched as she focused on my neck.
I touched the area and winced from the sting of the hickeys.
Upon entering, the setup wasn’t like a house. Barrels were interspersed at different stations with tables and glasses set on top.
A wine tasting area.
Axel’s pace didn’t allow me any more gawking before we were through the back.
I gasped. Faerie lights wrapped around the circular setup of the trees, illuminating the focus on the long table stretching in the middle of the clearing.
Gold and dark red wine bottles graced the table. Axel dropped me on the cushioned seat at the end and took a seat next to me.
“What is this?” I blinked at the spread before me.
Kane sat across from Axel. They both stared at me.
“A date,” Kane grunted and waved his hand at the spread before me. “All for you.”
I blinked.
Me?
Kane lifted the rounded metal cover to unveil food underneath. A roasted turkey with vegetables, mashed potatoes, and macaroni lay beneath it. Another two of those metal covers lined the table.
I licked my lips.
Axel reached over to the bottle of wine. A loud pop rang out as he easily took the cork off with a twist. He tipped a wine glass as he poured.
“Here.”
I mechanically reached for it. Why were they doing this?
Axel poured one for Kane, who swirled his glass.
I set the wine down, too nervous to eat or drink.
Clearing my throat, I popped to my feet, curling my toes into the grass.
“Could I use the bathroom?”
The meek words didn’t sound like me, but my submissiveness came out around them without trying.
Kane tipped his drink at the house.
“Go to the one upstairs. It’s next to my office.”
I nodded and hurried off as quickly as possible without it being obvious that I wanted to get away.
As soon as I was out of sight, I crouched on the porch and buried my hands in my hair.
All of this was crazy. I felt crazy. They went from hating me to treating me like porcelain.
I didn’t understand, and I struggled to wrap my mind around it.
Hiding within the shadows of the house, pieces of their low conversation echoed to my ears.
“—Killing her will?—”
“Enough, Axel,” Kane snarled.
My heart stuttered. Still the talk of death. Even after their sweet behavior. Even Axel. I pressed my back against the wall.
What was I doing? I couldn’t escape them. Somewhere in the house, echoed movement. The Beta would snitch on me in a heartbeat. I had no exit.
My heart dropped, and my lip wobbled.
Why fight so much?
Once I was standing, I rolled my shoulders and lifted my chin.
With a knot in my throat, I stormed up to them. Breathing hard, my gaze bounced from one to the other.
Kane pinched my chin and forced my face toward him. “What is it?”
Gritting my teeth, I gripped his wrist and forced his hand to my throat.
“Stop talking about killing me and just do it already.”
Silence from both of them. Fury flickered in Kane’s gaze, and his muscles rippled as he stood, still holding my throat, stern and unrelenting, yet gentle.
“I’m not going to kill you.”
I scoffed, throwing my hands up. They were too much. Being on the fence between death and ecstasy was too much. I had had enough.
“Lies,” I hissed.
Kane’s teeth flashed with his cruel grin.
“Unless that’s what you’re into?” His hold on my throat tightened, cutting off oxygen. My fingers dug into his wrist.
He suddenly released me, and I sucked in a breath, hugging my chest as I glared up at him, panting.
He tsked, shaking his head. The gold-tinted light played along his features.
“Looks like I’ll have to fuck that attitude out of you.” Kane loomed over me, and my pulse jumped.
Axel leaned near my ear.
“Run,” his order sent a shiver down my body, and was the trigger to send me running across the grass.
I broke through the tree clearing, and not long after, low thuds followed. They would catch me. Panic and excitement chased through my veins.
I panted, but kept pushing harder and harder, running toward the line of vineyards so I could hunker down within them. Just a little more and I’d reach the goal. The pump of my arms and the burn in my legs reinvigorated my determination to get away.
The thuds came closer, ramping up the beat of my heart and sparking a burst of energy through my legs. A touch brushed the back of my neck. Tingles shot through my body and to my clit at the touch. The collar of my shirt dug into my flesh, and I was yanked back.
I gasped.
Desperate to break free, I thrashed. Then Axel appeared in front of me, looming and wide. I froze, almost choking on my gasp.
Kane chuckled near my ear. The sinister laugh sent pulses to my clit, wreaking havoc. My body softened against his hard form.
Kane’s cock thrust against my ass. Even with clothing between us, I could feel his girth. I fell forward, and Axel caught me against his chest.
My fingers clutched his large biceps.
Fuck, they made me so hot. The dampness spreading between my legs only made me more turned on.
Kane tugged the pants down my hips. The cool night breeze lifted goosebumps all over my body. His hand cupped my sex.
“All that running and you're drenched, baby.” His hands spanned my thighs, lifting me. I yelped, my back braced against him. He hoisted me higher, and my palms slapped against Axel’s chest.
I didn’t have time to brace before Kane slammed his cock into my wet pussy. I bunched Axel’s shirt. I screamed, pleasure licking down my spine.
Thrust after thrust shoved me into Axel. Kane gripped my hips, positioning me higher to feed his knot into my entrance. The rub of the ballooned base stretched my core, rubbing against my clit.
Pressure and pain twined as I stretched another inch.
Moisture tickled my thighs, and I whimpered.
“Yes,” he grunted. “Fucking take my knot.”
I will take it. I want more.
I sucked in a breath as he rutted forward again. Kane’s knot forced into my pussy, so my lips hugged him like they would never release him.
Breathing became difficult, and the world swirled as cries turned to moans.
His knot swelled inside me. The delicious need built, and I clawed Axel’s chest.
Before his knot became unbearable, Kane popped his knot free, stealing the pleasure with his retreat.
“Take her too,” Kane snarled.
Axel’s chest shuddered, and his arms moved.
I couldn’t see anything. I couldn’t focus on anything either.
“Are you ready to take me too?” He stepped closer, effectively propping me upright between them. Kane’s arm banded around my midsection, and his hips twisted up, feeding more of his length into my channel.
Axel hooked my leg on his bicep. He slid the tip of his wide cock up against Kane’s. The fit was tight, slippery, and wet.
I whimpered, the pressure turning unbearable.
“Tight little pussy,” Kane murmured, driving his hips up.
I screamed.
“Shhh,” Axel murmured, rubbing his thumb on my throat. My body softened. Axel thrusts again, matching Kane’s invasion, filling my pussy with both of them.
My channel stretched around them, and I ground downward.
“So wet, honey.” Axel chuckled in my ear.
“You will come for us again,” Kane ordered, sending a ripple of pleasure down my spine.
The orgasm ruptured, and I screamed, thrashing between them. Their ragged gasps echoed through my ears like music. Their matched rhythm picked up, dragging out my mind-blowing orgasm.
They both gasped and shoved into me so hard that I couldn’t breathe. Another orgasm rolled through my pussy. My mouth hung open, and my legs cramped.
Their knots swelled, turning the pressure excruciating. I groaned, my head falling forward.
“Fuck,” Kane hissed, his hand returning to my throat. “Mine.”
His snarl sent me through another wave of shock. Axel kissed the top of my head. My channel clasped them.
Jut after jut of warm cum spread inside me. So much that it dripped down my thighs.
