“Why don’t we go upstairs, Jain?” Harley murmured in my ear as I sighed.
“Because you’ll get the wrong idea?”
“Every party, every time, we end up together. Wework. Why fight it?”
Why indeed?
“Shut up, Harley.” I groaned when he pulled me towards him for a kiss. I didn’t bother resisting; this was the norm for us.
I was usually drunker than this, but it was what it was. His hands gripped my waist possessively; he kissed me so urgently, I thought I was going to come away with bruises.
Harley broke away, his mouth moving to my neck as I turned it into a hug, lifting the vodka to my mouth over his shoulder when I felt his lips on my neck.
Sometimes it was easier to go with the flow. Hewaspretty hot.
I turned around, leaning against him as my friends beamed at me, happy whenever we were together.
“Be right back. I need the loo,” I muttered, pulling away from Harley’s hands, feeling his eyes on me as I walked away.
Going to a toilet at a party full of teenagers was always risky, but when you needed to go, you needed to go. So Imade my way upstairs, leaning against the wall beside the bathroom.
“Come on,” I complained, wondering if I was going to have to wait for whoever it was in there to finish a blow job or sex. “I need a piss!”
The door opened, and I saw Arden gazing at me with surprise.
“Oh, it’s you. The lock is broken. Shall I wait here to make sure no one invades your privacy?”
I rolled my eyes, not particularly caring either way. I slammed the door shut, lifting my dress, and dragging down my tights. I sighed with relief as I emptied my bladder before rearranging my clothes. I opened the door, causing Arden to fall into me.
“Shit! Sorry.” I laughed as Arden shrugged.
“It’s cool. Off you go back to blondie,” he smirked as he lit another cigarette.
“I bet your breath stinks.” I snapped without thinking as he tugged me towards him.
“Why don’t you find out?’” Arden whispered, his lips inches away from mine.
I glanced around us as he chuckled.
“Making sure none of your friends see, hmm? YetI’mthe cliché.”
I stared at him before I reached up, removing the vile thing from his mouth, putting it out under my heel.
“That’s the second time you’ve done that! You owe me two now!” Arden growled, his eyes narrowing.
“You’ll thank me when you breathe in clean air.”
I stormed away, smirking to myself.
Smug bastard, thinking he could intimidate me.
I was glad he’d seen me with Harley. Men like Arden needed reminding he was just that, a man.
I found Sarah in the corner with some dude, and Ibegan to feel anxious. If I was on my own, then I’d no doubt end up with Harley again.
“There you are, come with me.”
Speak of the devil.
