"Jain."
"Oh, for fuckssake, Arden!" I snapped, turning to stop mid-sentence when I saw Mr Silver gazing at me from the school entrance.
I blinked, suddenly aware I had marched round to the front of the school in my angry state and assumed Arden was behind me.
"Okay. I'm not Arden."
Mr Silver cocked his brow at me before I saw the other teachers coming up behind him.
"Sorry, Sir, I didn't realise."
He held my gaze as I swallowed back the tears that were threatening to spill down my cheeks.
He was beyond handsome yet unattainable.
Why did I have a crush on my teacher?
He nodded as I turned and walked towards the gates, my shoulders slumping when I remembered Harley's words.
I saw you with your bird last night.
Only six more months of this shit, and I could do whatever I wanted.
One thing was for sure—I wasn't going to allowanyman to fuck with my head anymore. Arden had used me and tossed me aside when he was bored. I had no intention of getting involved with him again.
"Jain! Wait up!"
Are you fucking kidding me?
I turned to see Harley jogging up beside me, his eyes dancing with amusement.
"Are you fucking stalking me?" I demanded as Harley gazed at me like I hadn't spoken.
"What are you doing tonight? I'm free if you want to come round."
I stopped as he frowned.
"What the fuck are youdoing? Trying it on with menow, of all times? Harley. It's a no. Now and forever. I'm just not into you."
He looked wounded, and for a second, I felt terrible.
"Wow. I was just trying to be a friend..."
"Well, you haven't exactly warranted that title of late!" I cried, now completely taking it all out on Harley, who looked stunned. "Is sex all you boys think about? I'm not interested in any of you!"
"Jain—"
"Harley, seriously, just please leave me alone."
I turned and walked away, praying he listened. If not, I would have no other option than to kick him in the balls, as that was the kind of day I was having.
Luckily for Harley, he didn't follow me, and he didn't call after me.
I felt a twinge of guilt when he texted me later that evening apologising for being a dick—his words, yet I couldn't have agreed more.
Mum insisted on ordering pizza, as it was payday. So as I munched my way through a large tandoori pizza all to myself, watching Jim Carrey on TV, I made a firm decision.
I was done with Arden.
