Which is something Jordan’s been worrying more about lately, the closer I get to the end of my time in office. Making sure the two of us old farts stay as fit as possible given Leo’s reduced mobility and workouts this year because of his knee, and my reduced workouts because of work and the campaign trail.

Meaning Jordan’s been making adjustments where he can, such as ensuring we eat healthy.

Healthier. Maybe not the healthiest we could be eating.

I’m looking forward to getting back into shape once I’m out of office.

So many different things I want to do once I’m out of office.

Of course sex burns calories but I’m looking forward to having the time and space in our schedule to pay attention to my personal needs for a change. Pay attention to my men the way they deserve from me.

To life.

To our families.

Jordan and Leo turn at my entry. “There’s the man of the hour,” Leo says.

“Not me.” I wheel over to Jordan first and after making sure he doesn’t have a sharp knife in his hand, I hook an arm around his waist and pull him down into my lap, where I wrap my arms around him while I lay a kiss on him that tents his sweats almost immediately.

“Love you, baby,” I say. “I meant it, though. Enjoy your time with Daddy tonight.” I nip his lower lip. “If I regain a little energy I’ll reclaim some of my time from the sadistic gentleman from California.”

Leo snorts. “Yeah, you arenevergetting me to run for office. Sorry. That’s definitely one ofmyhard limits.”

At least some of the sparkle returns to Jordan’s eyes. “Yes, Sir.”

I release him so he can finish what he was doing. Meanwhile, I wheel over to the fridge and grab a chilled bottle of wine. I only want one glass tonight. Anything harder might knock me out. I pour it into a small travel tumbler with a lid so I don’t worry about spilling it.

“I’ll go turn on the TV,” I offer.

“Bedroom tonight,” Leo says. “Snuggle dinner.”

Gladly. I return to the bedroom, leave my wheelchair parked next to the bed, and climb in. I grab the TV remote and start channel surfing until I decide which election returns show to watch. First polls close in the Eastern time zone at 7 p.m. and we’re less than an hour from that.

I don’t bother stripping or putting on my collar because if I do that I’ll be down for the count and Jordan will try to upshift into Toppy mode. As I watch TV and sip my wine I try to block out the mental static wanting to slip inside my skull to distract me. I plan on savoring tonight as much as possible.

The first step in handing off the keys to the kingdom.

Thirty minutes later we’re all in bed and I now have a naked Jordan curled up with his head in my lap while I hand-feed him.

Which isn’t exactly easy with chicken wings, but I hold them for him while he tries to gnaw the meat off, Leo chuckling as he watches us.

“That’s adorable,” Leo says.

It is adorable, even if I wish it was me in Jordan’s place, or lying next to him while Leo hand-feeds us both. “He’s a good boy. He earned it.” I set aside a chicken bone and make him suck my fingers clean. While that would normally make my cock stand up and howl tonight it’s not, which is yet another indication of how badly I need this breather.

Feeding Jordan the potato skins is logistically easier than the wings. Since we’re not in a hurry I take my time feeding him, alternating bites while and eating my own food. Thankfully none of us feel the need to fill the quiet between us with idle chatter. We let the TV pundits drone on without any of our usual private commentary between us.

Any time the phone rings, which fortunately is infrequent tonight, Leo answers and deals with it, or relays my answer to the caller. Luckily nothing so urgent I have to get on the phone myself.

Jordan normally fields those calls but he’s not allowed to brain tonight. If Jordan recognizes what Leo’s trying to do he doesn’t let on. Contented, the boy’s attention moves between me and the TV screen.

I’ve seen this man terrify people much older and with decades more experience than he has in politics. He could be pulling down serious bank at any political consulting firm he wants to work for. I know for a fact he’s turned down lucrative job offers.

Yet he settles for…me.

He’s watching the TV right now but licking the bleu cheese dressing off my fingers from the piece of chicken I fed him. When I glance over at Leo I catch him smiling as he watches us, his pets.

As happy as I am for tonight to be over, I know he’s infinitely happier.
