Zoe
Sunlight barely penetratesthe dark sheet. There are no other windows in the back of the van. When I open my eyes, Dirk is gazing at the ceiling, lost in thought. I reach up and trace his jaw.
He turns.
"Hey, Country Boy. Why do you look so serious this early in the morning?"
His lips are like a magnet to mine, and he kisses me while palming my ass. "It's still early. But we should get back on the road soon."
"Okay. Can I go to the bathroom first?"
"Yes, and before we go, I want to show you a few things."
"What?"
"How to defend yourself."
The hairs on my arm stand up. "All right. Is that what you look so worried about?"
He tucks a lock of my hair behind my ear. "I don't entertain the thought of you being alone and having to fight someone off. I hate the notion that it could happen, and I wouldn't be there to protect you. But I need to put my ego aside and make sure that under no circumstance do you not have a fighting chance to get away should anyone try to harm you."
My gut flips, but I try to lighten the atmosphere. "So you do admit you have a big ego?"
He kisses me again so deeply my flutters take off, and I moan. "Only if you admit you love it."
"I love everything about you," I blurt out.
He freezes. His lips twitch, and eyes crinkle. "That's good. I love everything about you."
"I know. You've been obsessed with me forever, remember?"
He straddles my body then tickles me. "I should show you what obsessed is like.”
"Stop," I cry out laughing.
He rolls off me, but I climb right on him. "Where are you going?"
"Stay focused. Bathroom. Mini-lesson. Road trip."
I grind my body on his erection and he groans.
I nibble on his earlobe. "I am focused. Very, very focused."
About twenty minutes and several orgasms later, I step out of the van. The sun is barely up. Trees surround us, and there is only a small area not covered by the forest. We go to the bathroom, sanitize our hands, then eat a quick breakfast of fruit and protein bars I packed before we left Tinkers.
When we finish, Dirk's face turns serious again. He pulls his gun out and removes all the ammo. In the next thirty minutes, he discusses gun safety and shows me all the features. He has me load then empty the chamber. Once the bullets are back out, he shows me how to shoot it, explains that there will be a kickback once the loaded weapon is fired, and has me practice shooting.
"When we get to a place where I don't need to worry about the gunfire causing any attention, I'll have you shoot it for real."
"Okay."
He sets the gun down and moves further away from the van. "Zoe step in front of me."
When I get stationed how he wants me, he picks up my hand and positions my fingers like he did the night before. He shows me the difference between civilian and military eye jabs and explains when to use which ones. Then we go through heel palm strikes and elbow strikes.
"Good. You've got it down." He spins me to face him again. "What I'm going to show you next you're never allowed to use on me."
