He parked the little bucket he was driving and pulled a ski mask over his face waiting for Brody to come out.

Just like he thought it didn’t take that long, Brody was a habitual smoker, so he knew he’d be coming out to the back soon to smoke something.

Making sure his gloves were tight; he got out of the car and walked right up on him.

“What up Big B?” He asked him, aiming right at the back of his head.

Brody didn’t bother to turn around, he knew who was behind him, he knew that voice.

Instead of throwing his joint out, he still lit it up and took his last puff.

“I knew you was coming.” He nodded his head; it was almost as if he were ready to go anyway.

“Get this shit over with man,” he said, sounding exhausted.

“I didn’t have the strength to do this shit myself, I done lost everybody I ever gave a fuck about and the kids I do have left act like I’m dead anyway. ”

POW!

“So how do you feel right now?” The doctor asked her.

Brook’Lynn took a deep breath, “I feel…I don’t know I feel like it’s okay. I feel like everything is going to be okay. I been through some pretty traumatic stuff but in the end, I gained two angels…my baby girl Heaven and Shelly.”

“Shelly was truly a blessing.” The doctor agreed.

“You believe everything happens for a reason doc?” Brook’Lynn asked her.

She smiled and closed her notepad, “Yes, a big believer, nothing happens just to happen. Everything that happened had a cause for it. Even me being here talking to you is for a reason, I’m here because I was supposed to be here, you understand what I’m saying?”

Brook’Lynn nod her head, “Yep, I understand completely but outside of all of that, I’m still blessed.

I have a man that adores me, friends that love me, my health, and a career.

I have food on my table and a roof over my head, I won’t complain.

I’m a survivor. The stuff I’ve been through probably would’ve killed most.”

Perfect had tears in his eyes, he wanted to run out there and just hug her.

The doctor smiled, “I’m proud of you Brook’Lynn, and I admire your strength.” She told her extending her hand to shake hers.

“Thank you so much, I’m glad I decided to talk to you, I really enjoyed this session and if it’s okay with you. I’d like to see you again.”

“I’ll surely come back, it was a pleasure.” She smiled as Brook’Lynn walked her out.

She closed the door and locked it; when she turned around, Perfect was standing there. “Come here.” He told her.

She slowly walked over to him and wrapped her frail arms around him; she was slowly getting her strength and weight back. “Thank you.” She told him. “For everything.”

“No, thank you baby.” He kissed her forehead. He wished he could’ve made love to her, but he knew her body wasn’t ready for that.

“I have an idea.” She looked up at him, pulling him to the couch. “I want to go and visit Heaven tomorrow, not just me and you, everybody. I want to have a little picnic or something. I’m not sure, I just want to be close to her. God gave me my own little guardian angel for a reason.”

Perfect didn’t have a problem with that, he was willing to do whatever made her happy and if that’s what she wanted then that’s what she got. “Okay, I got you. I’ll set that shit up right now.” He told her. “Go take a shower, I’m coming in a minute.”

When she walked away, he couldn’t help but to look at her with love in his eyes.

She was his baby’s mother, his rider, his girl, best friend, and all that shit.

After he heard the shower water running, he called Boom and couldn’t get him on his cell, so he called his house instead. “Yo!” Boom answered.

“What’s up with yo cell phone?” Perfect asked him.

“I put that shit on silent, I forgot to turn the ringer off this bitch here, I didn’t wanna disturb Yaya,” he said.

“How she holding up?” He asked.

“She still real shaken up and shit, but she’ll be okay, I got her. You didn’t tell Brook’Lynn did you?” Boom asked.

“Nah man, she really cant take no more bullshit right now.” He replied. “She know Yaya is back but she don’t need to know shit else, they’ll talk about it one day.”

“Yeah, you right.” Boom agreed.

Perfect relaxed a little bit. “So, what’s up with ya’ll? Ya’ll gonna work that shit out?”

Boom looked over his shoulder to make sure Yaya was still sleeping and she was, looking beautiful and peaceful. “Shit, takin’ it slow right now man. She ain’t that bad of a person, you just gotta know her heart and where she’s been to understand her.”

“I feel you dude.” Perfect agreed. “Well look, Brook’Lynn wants everybody to meet at Heaven’s grave tomorrow, I’d say about three is good.”

“Aiight, I can do that.” Boom told him.

When they hung up, he called everybody else and set it up. He grabbed him a beer before going to meet Brook’Lynn in the room and when he walked in, she was just hanging up the phone with somebody. He didn’t know how to make out the look on her face.

“What’s wrong?” He asked.

That was Hollywood police, Brody is dead.” She said wiping away a single tear putting her silk negligee on.

“You okay?” He asked her.

She nodded her head telling him yes, “I gotta call Wise.” She told him.

“You need some privacy?” He asked.

“No.” She replied. “But go take a shower so we can watch a movie and cuddle; that’s all I want to do.”

Without another word, he went to shower and allowed her some time to herself.
