“I can’t believe I shot him.” She said.

“Look, whatever happened, we’ll talk about that shit later on, but right now, I need to know what’s up with you ma? What the doctors saying?” He asked.

“Well first of all, I hate that I had to come to my workplace because now everybody is in my business and treating me like a handicap and you know how much I hate that shit. On top of that, they’re probably putting my sister in the ground as we speak, and then I gotta worry about Brody’s ass, he won’t let this shit go. ”

“Fuck Brody, you ain’t gotta worry about his ass.” Wise spat before walking out to go call and check on Marley. He knew she was supposed to be coming in to work because it was almost time for her shift, he’d been neglecting his little nerd, and he missed her.

Perfect and Brook’Lynn both stared at Wise’s back when he walked out leaving them two to finish what they were talking about.

“The doctor said that I’m high risk because my placenta has partially detached from my uterus and in some cases that can deprive the baby of oxygen and nutrients.

Sometimes it can cause severe bleeding and shit but lets pray that I don’t go through that, I’ll be five months next week, and I have faith.

I think the stress of everything just started to get to me, and today I just lost it, I think I’m causing my baby to suffer. ”

“Wait, slow down.” Perfect said feeling like his head was spinning as he pulled up a chair and sat next to her.

“You just said a whole lot of shit so let me catch up. First of all, don’t blame yourself, this shit could’ve happened when you had that fight and maybe it’s just now catching up.

” He said, trying to make it make sense for her.

He didn’t need her blaming herself for shit.

“And one thing I’ve always had is faith, so I have faith in this too.

” He grabbed her hand and put it to his mouth. “Our baby gon’ make it.”

Brook’Lynn managed to smile, “I needed to hear that.”

“Good, now what sister is being put in the ground?” He asked. “You sure they didn’t dope you up too much and you all delusional and shit baby girl? You ain’t got no sisters.”

“No, I’m not delusional.” She puckered and then balled up her lips.

“I’m talking about Bugg…come to find out she was the missing piece, she was my sister.

Brody showed up at the church before the funeral and he was saying his goodbye to her, that’s when I heard him say it, but he didn’t know that I was there. ”

Perfect swiped his hands down his face and blew a long breath, “This shit is too much.” He shook his head but snapped back out of it quick, “Look I don’t want you stressing about shit, you hear me?” He asked her with a serious look in his eyes, “I’m serious.”

“I know,” she shrugged. “I’m gonna be on bed rest anyway, thank God my job is secured.”

Perfect knew how she felt about her career, but he didn’t want her worrying about that shit right now.

“I need to handle some shit but I’m thinking I should probably stay here with you.

” He really needed to get some shit in order for her to come home and be able to relax.

He also needed to get his plan in motion to get Rasta and Brody in the same room but now that this shit happened, he was torn cause he didn’t want to put Brook’Lynn in no positions to be stressing and shit even more.

“Stop treating me like I’m handicap, you don’t have to babysit me. I have a hell of a team that I work with who actually comes to check on me often.”

Perfect looked around with his face frowned up, “Where the fuck they at then? Cause not one person done walked in since I been here.” He grabbed her remote ready to push the nurse call button.

“Perfect!” Brook’Lynn giggled. “Stop that shit.”

“You sure? Cause I’ll get this shit turnt the fuck up in this bitch.” He smiled glad that he was able to put a smile on her face.

“I’m sure.”

He looked down at her ring finger and was still kind of salty that she hadn’t put her ring back on but he wasn’t going to address it right now, that shit would wait. All he knew was she better had tightened her ass up, as soon as she got home, he was putting that shit right back on her finger.

“Okay baby, I’ll be back tonight. I’ma bring you some food too cause I know you don’t want this gook shit they feeding you.”

She laughed again, “Boy, they don’t need feed people gook here, the food is actually good! Don’t bring me no food.”

“What I say?” He asked.

She knew it was no use arguing with him.

“Okay,” she mumbled.

This time he kissed her lips before walking out.

As soon as he got outside, he was able to breath normal again.

This shit was really fucking with him, niggas were expected to be so fucking strong, and he was really trying.

He couldn’t wait to get in the car and roll up a joint cause he needed it.

He sat right there in the parking lot behind his tints and rolled up before lighting up so he could smoke.

He turned his radio on and played some Tupac ‘Hit ‘Em Up’:

First of all, fuck your bitch and the clique you claim

Westside when we ride, come equipped with the game

You claim to be a player, but I fucked your wife

We bust on Bad Boys, niggas fucked for life

He was trying to get his shit together while minding his business and puffing on his shit when he realized that Wise car was parked right across from him a couple of cars down.

He was surprised to see Marley getting out of the passenger side trying to adjust her scrubs and run her fingers through her betty boop hairstyle with a silly little girlish look on her face as he wondered what the hell her little lame self was doing getting out of Wise car.

Wise waited until Marley was inside the hospital before he got out, trying not to make it obvious.

Perfect rolled down the window, “Uh huh you busted nigga! They gon’ lock yo ass up for fucking with that nerd…

you know you too much for that girl. Why you trying to turn her ass out?

Got her all in the parking lot getting’ her muthafuckin’ freak on when she need to be her ass upstairs with my baby!

” He joked trying to stay in good spirits.

Wise looked around and followed the smell of that good shit, “All in the people parking lot though?” He asked smirking, “They gon’ lock yo ass up talkin’ about me and shit.”

“Nah man, I’m out but I’ll be back, hit me up.” He gave him pound and backed out.

Five minutes later he was in front of Rasta’s house just staring, this was the first time he was about to holla at him since he’d been back and he wasn’t really looking forward to it, what he really wanted to do was gag.

Perfect was a firm believer that people could live how they wanted, he had nothing against gay people but what he did have a problem with was they way they chose to live their lives in the dark making everybody else suffer behind they bullshit.

He hopped out wearing his black Saint Laurent shades covering his red eyes since he was high as a kite.

That was the only way he was going to be able to even face Rasta, he needed to be mellow to prevent from breaking his fucking jaw.

He wasn’t going to say shit about what he knew yet; he was going to see how long Rasta was going to keep this bullshit ass fiasco up since he didn’t know that they all knew the truth, shit he’d already figured the Feds weren’t even thinking about they asses.

“So, ya’ll ain’t gon’ check me today, huh?” Said Perfect when Rasta’s crew didn’t do the usual and let him walk right in.

Rasta walked from the back smoking a fat cigar, “Don’t disrespect my people son.”

“You don’t think that’s some disrespectful ass shit to have these niggas searching your own son when he tries to visit his dad?” He asked looking at him sideways.

“Did they check you today?” He asked all cocky.

Perfect couldn’t even look at him the same anymore when he looked at the man, fucking booty bandit. “Man, what’s up? Enough with the small talk.” Perfect tried to switch up on his attitude not wanting to make him suspicious of anything.

“Have a seat.” Rasta told him as they both took a seat on the huge butter leather sectional inside of Rasta’s game room. As usual, there were topless bitches and thongs all over the game room shooting a game with each other.

Perfect looked at his watch, “I don’t have a lot of time so before you ask why we came back, let me tell you this. I’m not fuckin’ runnin’ from nobody, whatever happens just fuckin’ happens, that’s it…next?”

Rasta shook his head and pulled his dreads from his face not knowing what to think about his stubborn ass son, so instead of speaking anymore on that issue, he addressed the next, “So you got any word on who robbed me? Cause I promise you, if you don’t fix this shit, I’ma make the niggas pay.

Young niggas tryin’ my patience since they don’t see my face much but maybe I’m gon’ have to start reminding niggas. ”

Perfect shrugged his shoulders, “Nah, I don’t know.”

The way Rasta looked at him, he didn’t like the shit one bit, “Is that right? So, you mean to tell me you can find out who robbed them other niggas, but you can’t find out who robbed our spot?” He picked up a bottle of Remy and poured himself a shot before downing it.

“I’m working on it.” He lied.

“I want my fuckin’ money and you should too.”

“I said I’m working on it.”

Rasta frowned, “you lucky you my son and I love yo hardheaded ass, but if you get locked the fuck up, don’t call me son, cause I warned you.”

Perfect had enough, he had to get the fuck up outta there before he went off, but he kept his cool, “Aiight pops…man, I got you I’ma keep you posted aiight?” He gave him pound and then a hug with a quick pat on the back.

Rasta was looking at him weird as shit, but he didn’t give a fuck, he walked out knowing he had to get this shit off of his chest soon, when he got in the car he called C2.

“Where ya at?” He asked him.

“Handling business.” He told his older brother, and then he spoke to somebody in his background. “Keep playin’ with me and you gon’ get what you lookin’ for.” He told the chick.

“Pulled out the player card already huh?” Perfect chuckled.

“Life goes on…you heard from her anyway? C2 asked of Kema.

“Man, if you don’t care about the girl then why you asking about her?”

“You know what…” C2 started as he hopped on 95. “Don’t even worry about it.” He hated that he even asked.

Perfect just wanted to get up under C2’s skin, he knew there was no fucking way he was over that girl that damn quick.

That’s the reason why he was fucking with hoes and shit, to fill a void and help him get over her quicker and shit.

“I’m fuckin’ with you man, I ain’t seen her crazy ass.

The last time Brook’Lynn mentioned her, she was saying that Kema turned the club in for the books and decided to get a real job while she’s at it. ”

“Get the fuck outta here!” C2 fell out laughing, he couldn’t believe it, but if it were true then he was proud of her for finally wanting to get her life together.

He would never tell her that shit though, cause there was one thing worse than an women scorned and that was a scorned nigga, he didn’t have shit to say to her ass.

“True shit my dude, that’s what I heard but you know I don’t fuck with no he say, she say no matter where it came from so maybe you should check yourself.” He suggested.

“Nah man, ain’t my problem, I don’t care that much about it.”

Perfect guessed the girl in the background got tired of the small talk, “So you gonna keep talking in codes about a bitch all in my face like I’m not sitting here with you?”

“Perfect, give me ten minutes and I’ma hit you back, better yet meet me at my house when you done doing whatever you doing.” C2 told him.

“Yeah…aiight.” Perfect said before hanging up heading to make his rounds before going back to the hospital.
