“I am sorry. If there were any other options, I would have gladly taken them.” Wade stood and wrapped his arms around his mate.

“She would have killed me…and you, if you hadn’t stopped her.” Adalyn had no doubt of her mother’s intentions or her majikal ability.

“I know.”

“Is it over now?” Adalyn asked.

“No, it’s not. We don’t know how the coven will respond to…what happened. There’s also the question of the black wolf who showed up.”

“So, what do we do now?”

“Now, we enjoy today and tomorrow. We live our lives, finding happiness wherever we can and respond to anyone who threatens to take that away from us.”

Wade pulled Adalyn closer, his lips meeting hers before pulling back and placing his forehead against hers.

“Hey,” Adalyn protested.

“I have a question for you before we take this any further.”

“Okay.” The look on Adalyn’s face was skeptical at best.

Wade pulled something small from his pocket before dropping to one knee.

Her heart stopped.

“In a thousand years, I’ve never met anyone as fierce and beautiful as you. I knew you were destined to be my mate from the moment I first saw you, and I love you more than my own life. Will you marry me?”

“Yes!” She sprang from the bed and into his arms. Her favorite place to be.

“We have finally found our true home,”her wolf said, and for once, Adalyn couldn’t disagree.
