Page 68 of Fur Ever Wicked
With one swift slash of his arm, Tyrfing sliced through the dark majik. The fiery blade didn’t stop there. Not until Mariska’s head lay at Wade’s feet.
The body vanished before Adalyn’s eyes.
“It’s over,” Wade said as he looked to Adalyn.
Shock burned through her body.
“How?”
It was the only word she could manage to squeak out.
Wade lowered his sword.
Her eyes followed the path of the deadly blade.
“Tyrfing.” He twisted the sword around in his hand before willing it away.
“I don’t understand,” she stammered.
“A gift from Odin to ensure justice would be delivered to the souls who held no hope for redemption. Once the owner decides to use it on someone, the sword demands blood. There is no majik on Earth that can stop it.”
Adalyn glanced down at her fingertips, realizing the last of her majik was still primed and ready to go. She drew a steadying breath into her lungs and absorbed the majik back into her body. Her tired legs grew unsteady.
The world around her began to spin.
The ground getting closer by the second.
The last thing she remembered was being enveloped by her mate’s strong arms and his scent washing over her.
