Page 54 of Fur Ever Wicked
“We must go to Odin. Now.”His wolf winced as another round of pain crippled him.
Wade grabbed his cell phone and punched in Rafe’s number, knowing he’d never make it down the hall to knock on the door.
One ring. Two.
When the pain hit him again, it was a hundred times worse than the previous ones. If he didn’t get to Odin soon, he feared he’d never make it.
“Hello.”
“Rafe, listen—”
“Wade? What’s going on? It’s three in the morning.”
“Adalyn took off on her own. I think she’s going to try to rescue your father—alone.”
“We have to go after her,” Rafe shouted into the phone.
“I—ahhh fuck!” Pain slammed into him once again.
“Wade?” Rafe shouted.
It took Wade longer than he would have liked to catch his breath. So long, in fact, he heard Rafe’s bare feet just outside of the door before he could answer. Rafe pushed through the door.
“What the fuck?” Rafe shouted, rushing to help Wade.
“Odin… I… must… go…”
With the little strength he had left, he closed his eyes and imagined himself kneeling before his maker.
