“Colton!” I turn when I hear my name called, and Chaos is rushing toward me, looking somewhat harassed.

“What’s wrong?”

“The fuckin’ gnome has gone. It’s not there, and even the tarpaulin is missing.”

I stand for a moment, allowing what he has said to sink in.

But thinking about Nyx missing in bed last night I’m wondering if she had something to do with this missing gnome.

“Well, let me visit Nyx at work and see if that gnome has magically reappeared. You know that Star has been visiting those old dears, don’t you? ”

Chaos scowls. “If Star is involved, you can bet your life she’s stolen the gnome back again. Let me know, and if it’s not them, we’ll have to find the fucking thing.”

“I’ll let you know. Now I’m going for breakfast and to find my woman.” Entering the kitchen, I’m wishing I’d stayed outside with Chaos because the conversation I walk into is shocking.

“He said it’s a ladder.”

“You mean on his dick?”

“Yes. Lots of piercings running up it, like a ladder. I searched on my Google and then asked Alexa.” Carol blinks looking wide-eyed.

“Oh, that had to hurt.”

“I would love to see it.”

“Not sure Nyx would go for that, Sandy.”

“I’m going to ask him if I can see it again,” Carol states loudly.

Some of the brothers are eating breakfast and chuckling at the conversation they are overhearing. None are taking part, but they sure think this shit is funny.

“Have you seen it already?”

“No, but I have asked once before if I could see it.”

I’ve had enough of this, and stand with my arms folded and plaster my best annoyed face on, before I speak. “Nobody is seeing my dick. It belongs to Nyx, and nobody but Nyx. I’m not taking my dick out so you four can have a good look at it.”

Joan groans. “You are such a spoilsport. We only wanted to look. We didn’t want to touch it.”

Nyx is sitting at an end table and she’s holding her hands over her mouth, but her shoulders are shaking and her eyes are glistening with tears of laughter. What the ever-loving fuck is going on with everyone?

“I’m going to get pictures on the internet and have a look. You know Colton may have a big penis for him to have a ladder in it,” Tina states with what can only be described as admiration.

Star bounces into the kitchen and gives a huge smile at Nyx’s ladies. “Come on, let’s be getting this done.”

The four old dears, as I think of them at times, jump to their feet and for shit's sake… They are dressed like Jane Fonda in those keep fit videos she made in the 70s. They do not have the shape to wear them, but they have no embarrassment at all. I wonder if it’s an age th ing!

They just follow Star out to train like ducks following their mother.

When church is called, I have to say I’m pleased we are away from the old biddies. I’m not sure if I should call them old dears, elderly ladies, old biddies or the dragons at this point.

It doesn’t take long for Axel to get church moving along, and when Nyx is brought to the table, I give everyone a steady look. “I’ve asked Nyx to marry me and she has agreed. We are not in any rush, but we are engaged. I want Nyx to be my Ol’ Lady, and I’ve had her patch made ready.”

Axel nods and turns to the brothers. “I need ayes for Nyx to be Colton’s woman officially in the eyes of the club. Who says aye?”

Every brother in the club stands and states ‘Aye’ firmly while looking at me. Showing they are solidly behind my choice, and also Nyx, who they have come to know.

“Okay, the club has itself a new Ol’ Lady. Congratulations, Colton.” Axel gives me a chin lift and a slight smile. He knows how special it is to find your woman and I’m sure he means the congratulations he has given.

PT hands me the patch for Nyx, and turning it to see ‘Property of Colton’ has my heart beat faster.

It’s an emotional moment, and the unexpected slap Target gives me has me nearly falling from my seat.

Where the hell he appeared from I don’t know, but he drags me up and gives me a brother's hug, bumping shoulders and clasping arms. Which, of course, is followed by more brothers doing the same. I’m sure I’ll have a bruise on my shoulders tomorrow.

“Now, news on Stefan. Vitale has him, and he’s assured me we have no more problems coming from that direction.

The gang or pretend MC he was building is no more.

It has been scattered to the wind. Although Vitale picked himself up two young potential made men from that gang,” Axel grins, and rubs his chin.

We all know if Vitale picked up Stefan from Nell, he was a dead man sooner rather than later.

Maybe Jaws and his buddies had an early snack with some of the men from Stefan's gang?

Forest grabs everyone's attention when he speaks. “The four that we caught went before the judge two days ago. The judge was Frazier and we all know that idiot knows nothing about what he’s doing anymore. In fact, I’m sure he has early dementia.

Anyway, he let them walk, so with help from my deputies, we collected them up before they walked away too far and deposited them with Nell.

She’s going to be busy this week, and the gators are going to have to go on a diet. ”

We all chuckle as we know what is going to happen to them, and let’s be honest, they are better gone than on the streets threatening innocent women and children. I have no pity for them. They, like all of us, had choices of being assholes or not.

Axel taps his knuckles on the table, gaining everyone’s attention. “We have two others going to be out of circulation for good soon. I have two favors I called in, and Colton, Penny does not need to worry about Darren and his mother…”

The look Axel is giving me and the ‘out of circulation’ comment let me know the favor he was owed is to be collected inside prison, and those two won’t be breathing long.

It seems we are having a clean sweep of late, and I’ve no regrets on any front.

I give Axel a slight nod to let him know I appreciate his calling in the favors.

“Any other business?” Axel asks.

Arrow speaks out, and he’s confident to say it’s the first time he’s spoken out in church.

“I am buying a house, or should I call it a property with a derelict house on it. That describes it better, actually. I’ve put an offer in and I think it will be accepted.

But Colton said to speak to Hammer about knocking down the house and rebuilding. Is that a possibility?”

Axel looks at Hammer, who in turn looks at Arrow. “Of course, we’ll knock the fucker down and rebuild. I’ll take a look at the place, get plans, and we can go from that point. I’ll speak to you after church.”

Arrow nods. “Thanks, Hammer.”

Yeah, this is another property for a brother.

We are all planting roots and I can see the satisfied look on Axel’s face.

The only worry I have is when I have to leave to be with my chapter president.

Maybe I’ll keep it and buy another one? I can rent this one out if necessary to one of the brothers.

“Last piece of business I need to report to you all is my conversation with House. He was a little put out about us not wanting to be a link in his rescue plan. But I did tell him if there was an urgent case, we would discuss it and see if we wanted to help that case or not. He has Sharrow involved, and they are working well together. But I think we do a lot of charity, donating, rescuing as and when needed, so I agree with you all. We don’t need to get involved in something that will take us away from our businesses and our daily lives.

” Axel looks from one of us to another, and as we are all nodding in agreement, he taps the gavel on the table. “Church, dismissed.”

As I’m walking away from church I hear, “Who has images of dicks with Jacob's ladders?”

For…Fucks…Sake , those oldies are gonna be the death of me, or my dick .

After following Buzz for the rest of the afternoon, I head home, but Nyx isn’t here, so I make my way to the old ladies’ place and the truck is outside.

I’ve no idea why she is here on a Sunday, but as I walk into the backyard there is the gnome, standing proudly in its place in the corner of the yard.

Taking out my phone, I take a photograph of the fucking thing and send it to Chaos, with a message stating, ‘Home Safe.’ I hope that is the end of the gnome saga, but with Chaos and these oldies, who knows!

Later that day at home, sitting around the living room with the TV on low I listen to Penny and Nyx discussing Penny going home. Nyx is listening intently, and it’s easy to see she cares about Penny and Arabella. Ruger is sitting, looking relaxed, but I can see some tension in his jaw. Interesting!

“I agreed to take the job at the security company. The salary is very good, and I’d have a lot of say on how things will be set up, and eventually I’ll be responsible for the office’s day-to-day management. Plus, I’ll be on reception until we get a competent and trustworthy person to do that.”

“That is an excellent offer, Penny. I’ll watch Arabella with my ladies. You know they love her to pieces, and we’ll make sure she is safe.” Nyx easily reassures Penny on how Arabella will be looked after while she’s working. “It will be good to ground my ladies. God knows they need it. ”

Both Penny and Nyx bust out laughing, and I can see something is going to be said when they both turn and look at me before snickering.

“Bet that’s about your cock again, Colton,” Ruger states blandly.

“Honestly, I’ve heard more than enough about my dick just lately, Ruger.” Before I can say more, I get a call and seeing it's Axel, I pick up and listen to what he tells me. I don’t hold back the grin and look at Ruger, then Penny.

“What?” Penny asks.

I close the call after Axel leaves the conversation and I give Penny a huge smile.

“That was Axel our President, and he’s just had word from an acquaintance.

It seems your ex’s mother was just found hanged in her cell.

But better yet, Darren was shanked in the shower.

He bled out before the guards could get to him and take him to the hospital wing. ”

We all watch the play of emotions cross Penny’s face, but it’s when she realizes she is free from any threat that an enormous smile appears on her face.

“Oh, my, that is horrid.” She tries desperately to look sad, but the smile reappears.

“What am I saying? It’s the best news I ever heard in my entire life. ”

Penny and Nyx laugh together, and when they get up and do a jig, it’s fucking hilarious. I get up and grab my woman, kissing the shit out of her, before turning and seeing Penny in Ruger’s lap, kissing the shit out of him.

“Now, that’s interesting!” Nyx mumbles, and I can’t help but nod before turning and picking her up and carrying her out of the room. I think it’s time I put my ladder to good use!
