Tank laughs, “Told you he’d be up for it, Nell. Now, let’s get geared up and move. We’ll take the van, as it’s quieter than the hogs. If we have to bring anything back for Jaws and his buddies, we’ll be able to do that too.”

“So, are we going to this warehouse?” I ask.

Nell picks up a black jacket and a balaclava, handing me one at the same time.

Before I can ask Nell smirks, “Take off your leather jacket…” she fucking giggles because she knows what they are called, “put on this black jacket. We need to be as dark as possible. Oh, pick up a weapon from the table. We’ll dispose of them if used when we get back. ”

Once all four of us are ready and we are settling in the van, Tank turns to me, grinning. “You know she calls them leather jackets to wind you all up, don’t you?”

“Yeah, I presumed so. ”

Arriving at our destination, after being given our instructions on the journey, I follow Tank out of the vicinity of the van, and to a patch of bushes and trees. We keep down and are as silent as we can be. The last thing we want is to be detected.

Squatting behind a tree, I am at a vantage point where I can see the warehouse front and part of one side.

There are lights inside the warehouse, but not main lights.

It looks like torches or they have small fires lit.

We wait for an hour and then a group of four kids come out of the building.

They can only be sixteen or around that age.

I look at Tank, and he curses under his breath. “Typical of Stefan to use kids. He’ll be pumping them full of promises he has no intention of keeping.”

“Let’s get closer and see what we can find out. I’m sick of hunkering down here.” It’s like Nell must know how I’m feeling because she and Richie appear behind us.

Nell peeks around me before speaking. “You two go to the right. We’ll go to the left. I don’t want to kill one of these kids, but if it comes to you or them, then it’s them. Okay?”

Both Tank and I nod to show we understand and agree.

I follow Tank as he stays low and works around the building.

I’m shocked when we get to the side and see a large door open, and right inside the building there must be fifteen or more kids sitting round a small fire.

Huddled round the fire would be more of a description, but what else I notice is not one adult is with them.

Just as I’m going to say I’m heading over to the kids I see Nell walking toward them.

She’s not showing any sign of worry, just like she’s on a stroll.

She takes a seat next to a young girl and then starts to speak.

We are too far away to hear what is being said, but not one of these kids seems alarmed by her arrival.

Tank chuckles low in his throat. “She has a gift of calmness. It is odd how she can walk up to anyone it seems, and they are not worried about what she is going to do or say. Little do they know she has gators as fuckin’ pets.”

“Where’s Richie?”

Tank points to the left of us. “He’ll be in the shadow, but he’ll be coiled and ready to lunge forward if any sign of trouble starts.”

Nell speaks with the kids for at least thirty minutes, before walking away after handing them what looks like a good wad of cash. Tank taps my shoulder. “Come on, let's get back to the van. Seems nothing much is going to happen tonight.”

“Fucking typical. I was ready for a good fight. With not fighting on the regular, I get a little itchy.” I rub my face with the palms of my hands, then start to follow Tank.

“You can always come over to us and have a session. Both myself and Richie are up for it.”

“Where’s Graham?” For some reason, I only just realized I’ve not seen him.

“Oh, he had gator work tonight,” Tank says no more, and I ask no questions.

Back at Nell’s we are drinking hot chocolate, which is great, but it’s five in the morning. I lean back in my seat and watch Nell, Tank and Richie settle, too.

Nell takes a sip, then places her mug on the table.

“Okay, I found out that Stefan is moving around constantly, all so he’s not caught.

But, his main hiding place is the mill. He has three men that were in the slammer with him helping him.

They have beaten up lots of kids, and even families to get what he wants.

He’s trying to build an MC, but all he’s getting are young kids.

He’s not gotten one over the age of twenty so far. ”

“He’s not doing well, is he?” I chuckle.

“No. But it’ll make it easier to take him out, because these kids will run when shit hits,” Richie says before taking a mouthful of his chocolate.

Nell speaks again. “I’m going to give Axel a call tomorrow. Fill him in on what I have heard. But you say you are having a recon with Target?”

“Yeah, not sure when.”

“Let me know what you find out, and I’ll keep you informed.

This is just stupidity on Stefan’s part.

There is no way he can achieve jack shit, let’s be honest.” Nell stands and heads out of the kitchen but turns to speak over her shoulder, “Go get some rest, Colton. It was a shame nothing happened, and you’ll feel like you wasted your time. ”

“Not at all, Nell. I’m up for it any time. You call and if I can, I’ll be there.” I give Nell a wink and she shakes her head at me, while rolling her eyes as she turns back and disappears.

“Okay, I’m out of here.” I quickly make my way back to the compound and do my best to sneak in quietly. Meat sees me as he’s in the kitchen but apart from raising an eyebrow he says nothing, and neither do I.
