W e’re fucked.

We are so fucked.

That was the only thought running through my mind as I pressed my head against the window of the plane, watching the wing cut through the clouds. The engines rumbled beneath us, but it was nothing compared to the roar inside my own head.

Nothing could get us out of this now. I’d been caught kissing our star anchor, pulling her into a scandal that could wreck both our careers.

Our fate rested in the untrustworthy hands of a seventeen-year-old intern so desperate for approval and attention that I gave it half a day before this got out.

Xander shifted in his seat between Jillian and me, his hoodie pulled up over his head, oblivious to all of this.

But seeing as this kid was his intern, he’d find out soon enough.

Of all the women in Woodvale, I just had to fall for Xander Pierce’s ex.

He would probably kill me. Or at the very least, he would want to.

I squeezed the armrest as the plane reached cruising altitude and the seatbelt light dinged above our heads.

It was just getting good, and now it’s all falling apart.
