Not being stupid, I happily kiss him back, wrapping my arms around him and pulling him closer.
Sly breaks the kiss and pulls back, looking at me with love and happiness shining in his grey eyes. “I can’t believe how much I love you. Before we met, all I saw in my future was a long, lonely life, and then I met you in that nightclub, and I instantly knew I had found my person. Someone who could look past me being a dark witch and want me just for me.”
I move my hand and place it against his cheek. “How could I not love you, Sylvester? You are amazing, and you know I’ve never given a stuff about you being a dark witch. How could I when we worked together to stop that group of thugs? I fell in love with you the moment our eyes met, and that love has only grown deeper through the years.”
Sly turns his head and kisses my hand.
“Now, enough talking. I was hoping you’d ravish me,” I tell him, grinning.
Sly bursts out laughing. “Oh, I can promise you, I will ravish you, Ebenezer, starting now.”
True to his word, Sly ravished me, completely and utterly, and it was oh so delicious. And then I turned the tables on him, and yes, I did the licking thing he loved so much.
After a little rest, we dragged ourselves out of bed, showered and dressed.
“I can’t wait until we move into our house. You know, I’m going to make sure we christen all the rooms, right?” Sly says, grinning.
“Well, maybe not the boys’ rooms, but I’m on board with christening all the others.”
We reach the manor just as Nix, Sal, and the boys do.
The boys run over to us and start telling us about their afternoon.
“Did you have fun?” I ask them.
“So much. Nix and Sal taught us how to gather hot glass on a rod and then blow into the rod to make it bigger. They helped us shape it into vases,” Xander replies.
“You have to keep the rod moving or the hot glass will fall off. It was hard work, a bit hot, but so much fun,” Enoch adds.
“Sounds like fun,” Sly says to them.
I look at Nix and Sal. “Thanks.”
“We all had fun,” Nix replies.
“Let’s go inside, dinner will be ready soon, and I want to see Connie,” Sal says, leading us inside.
We’ve not been there long when the others arrive.
“Evening, family,” Ernest says generally.
As soon as Xander and Enoch see John, they run over and hug him.
“Did you two have fun?” he asks them.
“So much fun. We made things,” Xander said.
“We can’t show you until Monday, though, as they need to slowly cool down. But Nix and Sal were really patient with us and helped us make vases, paperweights, and we made some caterpillars,” Enoch says happily.
“I’m glad you both enjoyed yourselves,” John says.
“They all did, judging by the laughter coming from the workroom,” Jodie tells us.
“It was good,” Nix says. “If I get another furnace, I could offer workshops or courses.”
“I can imagine people would love that,” Ernest says.
“They would,” Jodie agrees. “We’ve had a few inquiries already asking if Nix runs any.”
