Page 14 of Bite The Terror That Feeds
He was wide awake, judging by the way he stared at me.
“I thought I was in my old room.” I didn’t know what possessed me to say that. Being half awake, I supposed.
He continued to stare at me.
My arm slid across his stomach, and I snuggled into his side, missing our early morning cuddles. He smelled like mist and sandalwood, smelled like a man. His skin was searing hot like he’d been in the sun all day. I felt like a lizard on a warm rock.
“Are you well enough to travel?”
“Where are we traveling?”
“To speak with the others.”
I’d forgotten his plans. Once I’d surrendered to him, everything else didn’t seem important anymore. It was just him and me again, in this complicated relationship that wasn’t a relationship, but also the most fulfilling and passionate affair of my life. “Oh, that’s right. Yes, I’m well enough.”
He left my embrace and moved on top of me, his heavy body like a warm blanket that smothered me with searing heat. He grabbed one thigh and tilted my hips, opening me to him as he invaded me.
My hands automatically dug into his hair as my ankles locked around his waist.
He kissed me as he sank inside me, this time gently, knocking before barging in. “Are you sore?”
“Yes.” The farther he plunged, the more it hurt.
“You want me to stop?”
“God no.”
The tension in his handsome face dropped as the corner of his mouth rose in a smile. That smugness entered his gaze, and he’d never looked hotter. His head dipped, and he kissed me, our first kiss since I swallowed my resentment and exposed my flesh. It was slow and seductive but packed with purpose and desperation. This man could kiss as good as he could do everything else.
He rocked into me simultaneously, being so gentle that the pain was masked by the pleasure. His tongue parted my lips, and he breathed into me as his hand made its way into my hair.
I was swept away in his river, following the stream wherever it took me. My nails clawed at his strong back and I rocked into him, my breaths so unsteady it became hard to kiss. The same happened to him, and soon, we both panted and moaned, our wet bodies engulfed in fiery pleasure.
My thighs squeezed his hips when I felt it, the unbelievable pleasure that made my body ignite. I whimpered in his face, seeing his eyes watch mine water, seeing the tint flood his cheeks as he bridled his desire. “Kingsnake…” My nails dug in deep as I finished, the high elevated by the sleepiness in my eyes, the way my body felt weightless because I was floating in the clouds.
“You want it, sweetheart?” His thrusts became long and exaggerated, doing his best to keep his load in the barrel.
“Yes…” My hand grabbed on to his ass and tugged, pulling him with his movements, bringing his cock deep inside me as it released. I felt him harden before he let go, and then I heard the sexy moans that followed as he filled me.
I loved watching him come. I loved feeling him come.
He kissed me again when it was over, his kiss packed with the same desire as when we started. Our mornings and nights weren’t enough, not after our long hiatus.
I turned my lips away and exposed my neck, my fingers running up into my hair to pull away the loose strands.
Heat scorched the air between us, his spent desire suddenly refueled by my voluntary submission. His fingers were still lodged in my hair, and he gave a gentle tug to turn my head farther. Sharp fangs pierced my flesh, and I felt the warm blood drip down to the sheets. A second later, the high infected my bloodstream, and I felt my body soften into the mattress.
Never in my life had I imagined I would be in bed with a vampire, exposing my neck and begging him to feed. But there I was…enjoying every moment.

KINGSNAKE
I approached Viper, my cloak flapping in the slight breeze, the armor a little tight over my thicker muscles.
His eyes were locked on mine, seeing the distinct change in color. “Good. You don’t look like shit anymore.”
“I don’t feel like shit anymore either.” Larisa joined me, dressed in her armor and weapons, Fang along for the ride as well. “You’ll guard Grayson in my stead?”
