With that, he threw my phone next to me on the bed. “Call if you need me,” he murmured, and then he marched out of the room. I heard the door to the hotel room open and close.
“Dex?” I called out, sure he was about to walk back in.
A whole minute passed.
Dex left me unattended in that bedroom, and I jangled my wrist for another few minutes in fury. That’s when I realized I’d done something completely ridiculous and hadn’t been the least bit worried about the repercussions. And now, I wasn’t at all concerned for my safety or that I’d been locked up by him.
I was just mad. And I was going to do something about it.
ChapterThirty-Six

The thingabout Keelani was that she had been listening to men tell her what to do for all of her adult life while under contract. Yet, now she was acting out, reckless and free. How could I blame her for it? It’s how I remembered her, how I wanted her, how she should have always been.
Sure, I was pissed about her showing her rack to some guys on my rooftop, but more than that, my cock jumped to attention at seeing her rebel. Seeing her light up, stand up, and push boundaries she knew she shouldn’t. Living life without boundaries meant living a life worth living. She was coming back to life. Containing her was now going to be the problem, and I knew I couldn’t.
“Are you listening at all?” Dante growled from across the conference room table. He pointed to the large screen up at the front and said, “We’re about to call the president to discuss your girlfriend.”
My gaze shot up, and I nodded.
“What the fuck are we calling him for? We need permission now?” Cade ground out.
Dante rolled his eyes. “Cade, just do it legally. We’ll get a warrant and—”
“I could just take a quick peek at their shit—”
“Illegally. This casino is clean right now,” Bane cut him off, and they stared each other down.
“You said the picture looks like it was taken in the airspace above Platinum Casino’s property. That means they’re utilizing their drones to spy on us.” Cade held up a hand when Dante tried to say it wasn’t really spying. “They did something bold, and now we are. Are we in agreement?”
Cade looked at both Dimitri and me. This was mostly our call because the resort and casino was mostly ours. We both nodded. I didn’t give a fuck about the casino, just about getting the name of whoever was operating the drone. But Bane cared.
They dialed the number while Cade grumbled about not being able to just hack their systems himself. “I’m head of cybersecurity, and we have to call this dumbass about getting a paper that says I can do what I want. It’s a waste of time.”
“Do you have something else you need to be doing right now?” I asked him with irritation.
“Other than my wife, who needs to be punished after going topless at your resort?” Cade smirked at me.
“Fuck, man. That’s so uncalled for when she’s our baby sister,” Dom groaned.
“She also gave me children. How the hell you think—”
“Hello?” The president showed up in the Oval Office on the Zoom call.
Bane cleared his throat, launching into the logistics.
I checked my phone to see what Kee was doing handcuffed to the bed. None of us gave a shit about what the man on the screen had to say because at the end of the day, our money funded him sitting there. It’s why Cade was adamant that we didn’t even need permission. Yet, we followed the laws for the time being, and I let the president drone on about what he could and couldn’t do while I watched Kee in the camera.
On my phone, she wasn’t under the comforter at all anymore. She’d kicked it off and was staring up straight at the cameras with a damn smirk on her face. The sparkle in her eye was there too, one of mischief and mayhem. Reckless, wild little thing. My Kee was back. And I knew that meant she was about to be reckless and wild with my heart too.
I’d only cuffed one hand, so she put the other to good use as she slid it first down to her chest to touch her nipples. She moved the fabric to the side so I could catch every part of her. I watched as she rolled it back and forth, making it peak. I leaned back to adjust myself as everyone else talked. Fuck, I needed this meeting to be over.
She stopped for a moment to pick up her phone.
Kee: You ready to come back and uncuff me?
Me: I’m on a call in my office.
