Page 80 of Benga's Rise
Horn looks at the three rows of bikes all over the fucking floor, then at Cort. “Roger, Pres.”
Cort lifts the plate up. “I need a chain, Horn. This fucking thing is heavy.”
I nod looking at the bikes that fell as I follow him out. “Looks it.”
“We’ll hook him to you.”
No, we won’t.“Why not you?”
“I want to see it.” He’s fucking crazy.
“So do I.”
He stops and drops the plate making a huge clang like someone hit a gong with a metal pipe. Hitting his mic, he calls for Hade. “Get Prospects to help Horn clean the mess in maintenance. There are bikes every fucking where. I need someone to pull the dick in a dish. What are you doing?”
Hade clicks on my mic. “I’m not pulling a dick in a dish.”
Cort isn’t giving up. “Where’s Falcon?”
“He just ran out of Ops.”
I smile.
“Brinks?”
“He says he’s training.”
I laugh.
Now Cort’s getting pissed. “Find me someone to pull the dish.”
Hade laughs. “Roger, Boss. I’m calling Vick in. I’ll bring the bail money.”
Falcon, Amos, Banks and Hade come running out the front door while we’re cuffing the dick to the dish.
“It really looks like a dish.” Hade has wonder in his voice.
“Who is pulling?”
Amos steps up. “I’ll pull him, Boss.”
I didn’t see that coming. “He’s got creeper wheels on it.” I give it a gentle shove and the dish spins, rolling to the side of the portico.
“This looks like it will be fun. I never get to do the crazy shit.” Amos is excited. He’s crazy too.
“Yeah. Hade’s got bail money. We’ll be following.”
“Wait!” Web comes running out like we all aren’t standing here. “I’m coming too.”
“Who the fuck is working?” Cort asks.
“Seconds,” Hade says. “We need more than a breakfast, all we do is work.”
Cort nods. “Let’s get him hooked up and we can take the backroads to the steakhouse.”
Brinks and Jinx come running out. “I got us covered.” Jinx doesn’t stop but goes right for his bike. “I can pull him.”
“You did the come to Jesus guy on the truck!” Amos yells at him. I get on my bike and ignore the yelling. Now Banks wants to pull him. Fucking Brothers.
