His cock hardens further under my touch. He seems to be one snap decision away from bending me over my kitchen table, and I think I’m no longer hungry. At least not for food.
Harrison pushes me against the counter. The anticipation of his hands on my body and his lips on mine makes me dizzy. Our cocks press against each other, and even with clothes on, it feels amazing.
My eyes follow his as he tracks every inch of my skin until our gazes meet. He leans forward, and I close my eyes, anticipating his onslaught.
He takes my hand and places something in it. I open my eyes and snort when I see a red pepper.
“Harsh,” I say.
He places a soft kiss on my lips and stands aside to watch me cook.
“I met up with Mr. Jones today. I’ve never seen anyone so excited about the prospect of talking to kids about law. He even talked about making a PowerPoint presentation and handouts to give the kids at the Spring Fair,” he says.
“He’s a nice man. How about his nephew, Brad Dick?”
He laughs. “He’s in Boston this week at a conference. Out of sight, out of mind.”
Harrison hasn’t mentioned Bradley in a few weeks, so I’m assuming he’s backed off a little since the party. Hopefully, he has enough of his own work that he can leave Harrison alone.
With the Spring Fair preparations and his regular work, Harrison doesn’t need any more worries.
“Megan keeps talking about the fair too,” Harrison says. “There was nothing like this at her old school. Stella tells me every night she wants to go through everything that’s going to happen at the fair before she’ll consider going to sleep. I bet George is the same, right?”
Ellis’s words come back to me.
“Ellis mentioned something at the grocery store.”
“About George?”
“Yeah. Apparently, he’s becoming more distracted during class.”
“I thought he’d stopped talking so much about Europe. That maybe he forgot, or the excitement wore off because it’s not happening just yet.”
I finish chopping the steak and start adding the ingredients to the hot pan.
“I don’t know. I need to speak to him about it. Maybe he just misses Fran now that she’s in Boston.”
Harrison comes up to me and strokes my hair.
“I think he’ll miss you more.”
A lump forms in my throat. “Do you think?”
“God, baby. Do you have any doubts? That boy adores you. You’ve been the only constant in his life. You’re his hero, his best friend.”
Tears start running down my face. I turn the gas off because I can’t see what I’m doing.
“I can’t do it, Harrison. I can’t let him go.”
He holds me against his big chest, and I want to burrow in it and never come back, especially with the way he’s stroking my hair like I’m something precious.
“You’re breaking my heart, baby. Please let me help you fight this.”
I close my eyes tighter. Everything feels more hopeless with every breath I take.
“I can’t take him away from Fran. She needs him too. But if I go with them, I lose you.”
Harrison’s hand stops. “You…you’re considering going to Europe?”
