Story: Nocere
"You're still a pretty little fairy in purple socks," she said, nipping at my fingers when I brushed her hair from her cheek.
"Why do you like me?" I asked as she placed her hand on my chest while she gazed down at me.
"I believe I answered that question already at some point." She propped her head on her hand and smiled at me. "Did you forget?"
"A little. Who did you date before me? What kind of women?"
"All different kinds of women." She dragged her hand to my stomach and rubbed me in circles. The gesture settled some of my worries and I relaxed beneath her.
"Other than that nurse, did you date doctors and stuff?"
"A doctor once. A cop another time. Once a teacher. How come?" Her brows flicked upward.
"Because you're a brilliant doctor and I'm just a regular person," I said with a shrug.
"From what I understand, you're a brilliant intelligence analyst who catches bad guys in her sleep. We're each good at different things, Rosie. That's not a measure of our pairing."
"Are you sure?" I asked, searching her expression for any hint of disillusionment.
"Completely." She brought my hand to her lips then kissed it.
Dinner arrived a few minutes later and unlike last time, we returned to our perch on the sofa and tucked in to eating much more casually. I sat on the couch, devouring my first slice in record time while Samirah dropped down to sit on the floor beside the coffee table.
"What kind of movies do you like other than lesbian?"
"Horror mainly. Especially old stuff."
"Really?" She chuckled at me and I nodded. "My delicate fairy likes murder and mayhem."
"Oh yeah. Let's watch an episode of American Horror Story. I mean, if you like semi-horror stuff."
"I can roll with it." She grinned and did as I asked.
While the opening sequence played, I grabbed a second slice onto my plate and took a bite. Samirah turned, nipping my knee while the first part of the episode dragged some. I lifted a brow at her and she urged my knees apart.
"Has anyone ever gone down on you while you're eating?" she asked and I laughed with my mouth full.
"Nope. Never."
"Hmm." She set her pizza crust down on her plate, then snaked her hand up my thigh to disappear under my dress. I bit my bottom lip and nearly melted under her affection.
"Sam!" I laughed and she blew a raspberry on my thigh.
A sharp knock on the front door made both of us freeze. Sam looked up, her brows narrowed before she glanced at her watch. "Oh. It's probably Stella. She got off work around eight and was going to drop something off to me."
"I got nervous for a second," I said, and tucked my dress down over my hips. I pulled my feet up to sit cross-legged on the sofa while she rose to answer the door.
"Me too." She pranced over and pulled open the door to reveal Stella as expected. Clad in blue scrubs, with her hair pulled back, and a sleepy smile, she greeted Sam with a swift hug.
"Hi, lovely," she said, smooching her cheek. "Your delivery from H.R." Stella handed Sam a thick envelope.
"Thanks. Saved me a trip." Sam returned her affection then ushered her inside. "Come in for a bit. We have pizza and wings."
"We?" Stella looked around the open door and smiled when she saw me. "Hi, Rosie."
"Hi." My face burned with heat as they returned to the coffee table. Stella made her way to me and smooched my cheek.
"How are you?" she asked, taking a seat beside me. Samirah joined us, though she sat super close and snaked her arm around my middle. Stella smiled, glancing between the two of us when I leaned into Sam.
