Story: Merciless Monster
“Fighting amongst ourselves isn’t helping. We need to focus on a solution.”
“You’re right, Mia. I’m sorry.”
“I love you, Dad. I know you are worried about us, but we’re going to get out of this. I promise.”
“Alright,” he says. “I’m going upstairs.”
“I suppose that could have gone worse,” Dante says once Dad is out of earshot.
“Your nose is still in place,” I add.
“I’m so sorry, Mia.”
“I know you are. I think we should get some rest. It’s been a very long week.”
“You go up. I’ll be up in a while. I want to talk to my men first.”
“Men? What men?”
“The ones hiding in the car.”
“Dante! Have those poor guys been in there all this time?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Shame on you. They must be so uncomfortable.”
“They’re fighters, Mia. This is nothing.”
“I will never understand your world, Dante.”
“You just leave that to me.”
“Fine. But don’t be too long. I want to finish what we started earlier on.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice,” he grins before I go upstairs to bed.

I’m so tired I’ll just close my eyes for a few minutes. I'm fast asleep when I feel Dante’s body sliding into bed. He’s naked. I’m instantly aroused. All it takes is one touch of his skin to send me into a tailspin of passion.
“Hey, babe,” he purrs.
“Hmm.”
“Wanna fool around?”
“Always.”
Dante slides on top of me. His body is so warm. It feels good to have him touching me again. I missed our closeness most of all. He feels like home. Everything about him sets my mind at ease. It’s as if we were made as a solid piece of tapestry, torn asunder by circumstance, reunited to fit perfectly together once more.
“I missed this,” he coos.
“What’s that?”
“Being close to you. You have no idea how much.”
“I think I may have some idea.”
“You’re right, Mia. I’m sorry.”
